Today, Friday the 12th, the Cádiz Free Zone brings together the top representatives of the five Spanish free zones in the capital of Cadiz, at the First Annual Meeting of Spain's Free Zones, an event that will be held at the Conference Center from 9:00 a.m. and will culminate with the signing of an agreement between the free zones to strengthen ties and enhance collaboration between institutions that, geographically separated, are united by the same identity: El economic development of its different areas of influence.
This event is one more step in the work that the Cádiz Consortium has been developing in recent years to recover the essence and role of the Free Zone as an ideal enclave to attract investments due to its customs and tax advantages, as well as to enhance its aspect focused on foreign trade and logistics.
The day, which was born with the spirit of re-editing itself to advance the different lines of joint work between the free zones, will be inaugurated by the delegate of the Cádiz Free Zone, Jorge Ramos: the president of the Provincial Council, José Loaiza; and the mayor of Cádiz, Teófila Martínez.
Next, the panel “Business parks, logistics and Free Zones” will take place starting at 10:15 a.m., in which there will be a global tour on the offer of infrastructure and fiscal and logistical advantages of all free zones and which will be led by Santiago López Guerra, general secretary of the Vigo Free Zone Consortium; Jose Luis Rodríguez, director of the Customs Free Zone and Expansion of the Barcelona Free Zone Consortium; Pedro Ferrer Delgado, commercial director of the Las Palmas de Gran Canaria Free Trade Zone Consortium; and Jose Manuel Fedriani Castro, general director of the Cádiz Free Trade Zone Consortium. The Panel will be moderated by Ángel Juan Pascual, president of the Cádiz Chamber of Commerce and member of the Executive Committee of the Cádiz Consortium, and Carlos Fenoy, president of the Campo de Gibraltar Chamber of Commerce.
After a break, the panel “Free Zones and support for the economic development of their area of influence” will begin at 12:00 p.m., in which the delegates of the five Spanish free zones will participate: Teresa Pedrosa Silva, delegate of the Vigo Free Zone; Jordi Cornet i Sierra, delegate of the Barcelona Free Trade Zone. Gustavo González de Vega, delegate of the Tenerife Free Trade Zone; Antonio Vera Aguiar, Las Palmas de Gran Canaria Free Trade Zone delegate; and Jorge Ramos, delegate of the Cádiz Free Trade Zone. The panel will be moderated by Javier Sánchez Rojas, president of the Confederation of Businessmen of Cádiz and member of the Plenary Session of the Cádiz Consortium.
Finally, and to close the Conference, the delegates of the free zones will sign the aforementioned collaboration agreement.
