The Free Trade Zone of Cádiz is already using the photovoltaic installation that it has placed on the roof of the High Level Parking of the Interior Facility for self-consumption of electricity, which has involved an investment of 53,068.75 euros and which has obtained a 32.5% subsidy from the Andalusian Energy Agency of the Junta de Andalucía.
It is an installation made up of 144 photovoltaic modules of 250 Wp (peak watts) each and which have a total collection area of 235 m2 distributed over the two non-visitable roofs of the building.
The installation, connected to the grid in self-consumption mode, involves the production of energy and its own consumption and offers an estimated annual production of 52,202 KWp, which will mean significant savings on the electricity bill.
With this measure, the Free Trade Zone takes another step in its policy of cost reduction and energy savings. In fact, there are already installations of this type in other buildings of the Tax Precinct, such as the Documentary Services warehouse, which has 200 KW, Ship 17, with 100 KW, in addition to the façade and side decks of the Parking in Height itself, with more than 80KW.
The photovoltaic installation was carried out in parallel with the implementation of the energy service for improvement, efficiency and savings in all the car parks that the Consortium has in the city, Carranza and Glorieta, in the Outdoor Area, and Parking at Height, in the interior, and which represents a saving for the Cádiz Consortium of more than 50%, after the investment of 233,000 euros already completed in the energy efficiency project that consisted of dismantling the installation existing, supply, installation and assembly of new equipment.
Zona Franca will continue to delve deeper into this type of energy efficiency and consumption reduction projects, so necessary in the current era, maintaining the same energy services, without reducing comfort or quality of life, ensuring supply, protecting the environment and promoting sustainability, for which it will address in a new phase the realization of the public lighting project for the entire Fiscal Area.
