Zona Franca took advantage of its presence at the SIL in Barcelona to establish national and international contacts

The Cádiz Free Trade Zone took advantage of its presence at the International Logistics and Handling Exhibition (SIL 2014) held in Barcelona from June 3 to 5 to establish contacts with companies, mainly in the logistics sector, at a national and international level.
The delegation of the Cádiz Consortium headed by the Special State Delegate, Jorge Ramos Aznar, was present in Barcelona since last Tuesday, June 3 and, for the first time, attended the prestigious fair with its own stand where numerous business meetings were held.
Representatives of different companies of the Zona Franca Group, such as DALSE (Depósito Franco de Algeciras) or Servicios Documentales de Andalucía presented their services during a good number of meetings and made business contacts with directors of different companies in Catalonia, the Basque Country, Galicia, Castellón, Madrid and even Miami, Chile, Colombia and Mexico.
In addition, Jorge Ramos met with the State delegate in the Vigo Free Zone, Teresa Pedrosa, with the delegate of the Barcelona Free Zone, Jordi Cornet, with the delegate of the Tenerife Free Zone, Gustavo González de Vega, and with the delegate of the Gran Canaria Free Zone, Antonio Vera Aguiar.
The Cádiz Free Trade Zone also presented at the Hall the strengths of the province and the potential of the Southern European Logistics Platform, made up of the Cádiz Institution, the town councils of Cádiz, Jerez, Algeciras, Chiclana and El Puerto de Santa María and the Provincial Council.
The Free Zone was presented as an important part of the Logistics Platform as a generator of new logistics spaces, since in the coming years it will undergo a process of expanding the tax area, which currently has 330,000 m2, and will reach more than 1,300,000 m2 distributed in different municipalities of the province. This expansion plan will allow the creation of new centers, not only for distribution, but also for production that will allow the companies that settle in them to be more competitive and open to the international market.
All of these advantages, in addition to the traditional customs and tax advantages in the current logistics enclave of the Interior Enclosure, were presented for three days with a great reception from visitors.
The participation of Zona Franca in the SIL has been a constant in recent years, but in this edition the Consortium has taken a step further by participating with its own stand and as an ambassador of the Southern European Logistics Platform in the exhibitors' area with a stand in which its main logistics centers - Zona Franca, Bahía de Cádiz, Bahía de Algeciras and Jerez y Campiña - are displayed and broken down. and the strengths of the project such as its strategic location, important communication and transportation nodes and a wide supply of industrial land, among others.
