Zona Franca lays the first stone of the logistics warehouse of the Las Salinas Industrial Estate in El Puerto de Santa María

Today, Friday, the Free Trade Zone of Cádiz carried out the act of laying the first stone of the construction work of the Logistics Warehouse for Operators in the Las Salinas Industrial Estate in El Puerto de Santa María. The event was attended by the delegate of the Cádiz Free Trade Zone, Jorge Ramos, and the mayor of El Puerto, Enrique Moresco, as well as representatives of the company awarded the work, Ecisa, and the company awarded as user, Spelia.

Ramos and Moresco, accompanied by the general director of the ECISA construction company in charge of the work, Vicente Gimeno Merino, expressed their satisfaction with this new facility in El Puerto de Santa María, in a nucleus like the Polígono Las Salinas, which has been widely accepted among the business sector due to its strategic location and the wide range of services it has.

The delegate of the Free Trade Zone congratulated the representative of the Spelia company at the event, Manuel Sánchez, encouraging him to continue with the line of work of this logistics operator that has led to growth and expansion of facilities. It is worth remembering that this facility was put out to public offer at the beginning of the year and will finally be operated by Spelia on a lease basis with a 10-year extendable contract.

In fact, the new warehouse will unify the two headquarters that the company currently had in the province and will allow it to take advantage of resources and expand business lines, which will allow it to gain competitiveness and create 23 new direct and 14 indirect jobs, with an estimated turnover of 2.2 million euros.

The investment planned by this logistics operator in the new facility is around 200,000 euros, which will be used for the renewal and modernization of technical means, as well as new areas for maintaining the cold chain.

The Cádiz Free Trade Zone will build this logistics warehouse on a plot of about 6,000 m² located in the Las Salinas Commercial Park, very close to the warehouse that the Cádiz Consortium also built a few years ago and where the Heineken company has its facilities.

On July 30, the Free Zone awarded the construction company ECISA CIA General de Construcciones S.A. the works, with an award amount of 990,000 euros (VAT not included) and with an execution period of 6 months. This contract is financed by Reindus Funds from the Ministry of Industry, Energy and Tourism.
