The delegate of the Cádiz Free Trade Zone highlights the recognition of the Platform as a common project of the institutions of the province
Together with the delegate, the mayors of Cádiz and Jerez presented the Meeting; the mayor of Algeciras; and the president of the Provincial Council
The Special Delegate of the State in the Cádiz Free Trade Zone Consortium, Jorge Ramos, spoke this Wednesday morning at the Cádiz Congress Palace, together with the mayors of Cádiz, Jerez and Algeciras and the president of the Cádiz Provincial Council, in the presentation of the Meeting of Logistics Zones of Ibero-America and North Africa, an event promoted by the Southern Logistics Platform of Europe.
Ramos has highlighted the importance of this Meeting to publicize the opportunities that are opening up in the province with the launch of this initiative, as well as to promote bilateral relations with the countries of Latin America and North Africa.
The delegate of the Free Trade Zone has highlighted the importance that, one month after the presentation of the initiative in the city of Laredo (USA), at the First World Forum on Logistics Cities, which took place from May 28 to 31, the fruits of the promotion of the province of Cádiz as a strategic point to capture international markets and trade flows are collected, with a few days in which it will be possible to learn first-hand about the potential of the province's infrastructure.
The head of the Cádiz Institution has concluded his speech with an express recognition of the importance of the union and participation between the institutions of the province as one of the pillars of the project, capable of radiating wealth to our territory as a joint initiative and symbol of the participatory work between the municipalities in favor of the growth of the province.
After the opening, the ambassador of Panama, Roberto Arango, gave a conference titled “Panama as an American logistics platform.” At twelve noon, a panel on “Logistics platforms as support for foreign trade” was held, in which the main speaker was the mayor of Valparaíso (Chile), Jorge Castro. Subsequently, the panel “Trade Corridors of Latin America, Europe and North Africa” was developed, with the main presentation being given by the president of the Mexican Association of Secretaries of Economic Development and secretary of Economic Development of the State of Colima (Mexico), Rafael Gutiérrez.
The closing conference for Wednesday's day is scheduled for six in the afternoon, led by the Minister of Transport of the Government of Morocco, Aziz Rabbah, and a representative of the Government of Spain, yet to be determined.
Technical visits
The meeting takes place on its second day, on Thursday, in the three axes that make up the Southern European Logistics Platform. On this second day, technical visits will be carried out to Algeciras, where the Port and the Logistics Activities Zone (ZAL) will be visited; to Jerez, visiting the Agri-Food Center, the Transport City, the airport and the Aeronautical Center; and finally, to Cádiz, where they will see first-hand the facilities of the Port and the Cádiz Free Trade Zone Consortium, where the State delegate, Jorge Ramos, accompanied by his management team will take a tour of the Tax Precinct, showing its main activities and services, as well as the companies located in said facilities. A visit to the Caladero company, belonging to Mercadona, is planned.
