In recent days, the Cádiz Free Trade Zone Consortium has awarded six of the relocation warehouses that are located adjacent to the Europa Building of the Interior Precinct. There are five companies that will settle in these new properties that were put out to Public Offer approximately a month ago.
The seventeen warehouses, which have a surface between 142 and 256 m² plus a mezzanine, are part of the Europa Building, a construction inaugurated last March and which will serve to relocate the companies in the Exterior Precinct during its remodeling.
The first five awarded companies belong to diverse sectors. Two of the warehouses will be occupied by a business dedicated to the exhibition and repair of motorcycles, another to the manufacture of aeronautical components, a fourth to courier work and another to maintenance of computer equipment.
Added to the seventeen warehouses is the new Europa Building, a modern business building that makes more than 6,400 square meters of offices available to the citizens of Cádiz. The total investment in the building has amounted to 12 million euros and has been co-financed by FEDER Funds.
It should be noted that the building already has a large part of its facilities in operation and the current occupancy of its offices is 81%, leaving only three offices available. The Tax Collection and Management Service of the Provincial Council of Cádiz has been located there for months, which occupies more than 2,000 square meters between the ground, first and second floors; and on the other, the Fernando Quiñones Hospitality School, which will occupy a total of 1,250 square meters on the ground and first floors and whose construction will begin shortly.
In addition, the Europa Building also houses the Free Trade Zone Business Center on its Third and Fourth floors, which offers 35 offices with flexible modules according to needs, a meeting room, coworking room and computer room. Of the existing offices in the Business Center, ten are currently occupied and four are about to be, while the coworking service houses 20 jobs. The Business Center also provides service to 22 domiciliations, that is, those businesses that use it as their registered office without physically carrying out work on the premises.
The Europa Building and the adjacent warehouses are located in the Interior Area of the Free Trade Zone, with direct access to the industrial core of the capital, close to the Puntales and Loreto neighborhoods, the Poniente Business Park and the Astarté Building.
The work was awarded in June 2011 to Corsan-Corviam Construction for an amount of 10,075,262 euros (VAT not included) and has been co-financed with FEDER Funds within the framework of the 2007-2013 actions. In addition to this building and the warehouses, the contract for the work included the redevelopment of the area, which has meant cleaning up the back of the Interior Enclosure –Puntales neighborhood area.
