The President and the Delegate of the Free Zone inaugurate the Europa Building, in the Interior Campus

El nuevo Edificio Europa ha abierto hoy de forma oficial sus puertas a la ciudad de Cádiz. La Presidenta del Consorcio de la Zona Franca de Cádiz, Teófila Martínez, y el Delegado Especial del Estado, Jorge Ramos, han inaugurado en el medio día de hoy este equipamiento, un moderno edificio de empresas que pone a disposición de los gaditanos más de 6.400 metros cuadrados de oficinas y 17 naves industriales destinadas a realojar a empresas del Recinto Exterior una vez que comience a acometerse su reordenación. La inversión total del edificio ha ascendido a 12 millones de euros y ha contado con la cofinanciación de Fondos FEDER.
It should be noted that the building is launched with part of its large spaces already reserved for companies to begin their activity. Thus, on the one hand, the Tax Collection and Management Service of the Provincial Council of Cádiz, which is installed in more than 2,000 square meters between the ground, first and second floors; and on the other, the Fernando Quiñones Hospitality School, which will occupy a total of 1,250 square meters on the ground and first floors.
In this context, the Free Trade Zone delegate stated that the Europa building, in addition to housing these institutions in large spaces, was born with the vocation of provide service to businessmen and entrepreneurs que requieran de espacios más pequeños para su actividad. Para ellos se abre un nuevo Centro de Negocios en las plantas Tercera y Cuarta, que ofrece 40 oficinas con módulos flexibles según necesidades, sala de reuniones, sala de coworking y aula de informática.
“El edificio Europa sintetiza la filosofía de la Zona Franca, al servicio de la ciudad, de la provincia y de los emprendedores. Además, seguimos trabajando en un plan de Inversiones que incorporan un centro de negocios en Algeciras; naves nido en Rota; una nave logística en el Puerto de Santa María y edificios de empresas en Arcos, Vejer y Jerez”, explicó Ramos.
For her part, Teófila Martínez stressed that projects such as the Europa Building are the result of collaboration between institutions and thanked the Consortium for its total willingness to carry out this equipment that is destined to be a fundamental piece in the reorganization of the Exterior Precinct, in charge of the Investment Capture Office, OPEX, made up of technicians from the Free Trade Zone and the City Council.
The opening ceremony was also attended by the Deputy Government Delegate in Cádiz, Javier de Torre, who pointed out that this building is the best demonstration of the Government of Spain's commitment to the province, through the FEDER and Reindus funds. In addition, the vice president of the Provincial Council, Mercedes Colombo and a large number of mayors, representatives of institutions, associations and business organizations of the province attended.

Data of interest

The Europa Building is located in the Interior Area of ​​the Free Trade Zone, with direct access to the industrial core of the capital, close to the Puntales and Loreto neighborhoods, the Poniente Business Park and the Astarté Building.
The work was awarded in June 2011 to Corsan-Corviam Construction for an amount of 10,075,262 euros (VAT not included) and has been co-financed with FEDER Funds within the framework of the 2007-2013 actions. In addition to this building and the warehouses, the contract for the work included the redevelopment of the area, which has meant cleaning up the back of the Interior Enclosure –Puntales neighborhood area.
