The State Delegate in the Free Trade Zone of Cádiz, Jorge Ramos, celebrated this Thursday the traditional Christmas breakfast with the media at the facilities of the new Europa Building recently completed and built with Feder Funds. Ramos, accompanied by his management team, addressed the journalists thanking them for the work they had done and their good disposition during the first year at the head of the Consortium.
The person in charge of the Cádiz Institution reviewed the 2012 financial year and pointed out that "it has been a difficult but necessary year to reorganize, reform and do our homework with a view to developing actions that must be carried out." Ramos explained that to the current crisis "we must add the crisis of the Free Zone itself which, although it does not put it in danger, does put it in difficulties, which is why reforms had to be adopted and resources valued."
Jorge Ramos was optimistic when speaking about the future and set his main objective as the head of the Institution, which is none other than generating economic activity and employment. "Although we must not forget that we are a public entity, we have to be self-sufficient and we approach 2013 with the premise of growing, helping entrepreneurs and collaborating with institutions of any political color, being very clear that we have to make the return on investment possible."
In this way, the Delegate showed his hope for the next year and described it as important for the Free Trade Zone, detailing below the four objectives of the Consortium, the first of which is to launch the remodeling of the Exterior Precinct in collaboration with the City Council and "on which we have already worked a lot."
Two other fundamental points of 2013 will be the completion of the Carranza Stadium Grandstand, on the one hand, and the investment plan throughout the province, which includes actions in Algeciras, Jerez, Vejer, Arcos, Chiclana, Benaocaz and Rota, among others.
Jorge Ramos concluded his speech by referring to the fourth objective, the firm and constant work to recover the essence and origin of the Free Zone, foreign trade. "In 2013 we are going to return to export and trade activity and the celebration of the Bicentennial in Cádiz has had a lot to do with it, which has allowed us to work on it, something that I want to thank the Mayor from here, who has undoubtedly been a clear reference in defining and setting that objective."
