The State delegate in the Cádiz Free Trade Zone Consortium, Jorge Ramos, attended the presentation of the “Rate 2020” project yesterday morning.” that presented the candidacy of the Cadiz town as sub-host of the Madrid 2020 Olympics.
Ramos was accompanying the mayor of Tarifa, Juan Andrés Gil, who was also supported by the head of Sports of the Provincial Council of Cádiz, Juan José Marmolejo and by the president of the Andalusian Sailing Federation, Eduardo Zalvide, as well as a large representation of the local business community.
The president of the Free Trade Zone wanted to express the full support of the Institution he represents so that Tarifa has a Sports and Business Technology Center. In this sense, he stated that "in difficult times is when you have to make risky bets and the government led by Juan Andrés Gil can be clear that Zona Franca will help it do its homework to place Tarifa at the forefront of sport."
For his part, Juan Andrés Gil stated that the Tarifa town would host the most important sporting event in its history if Madrid is named the host of the 2020 Olympic Games. “Tarifa will be Olympic in 2020.
