The special delegate of the State in the Free Trade Zone Consortium in Cádiz, Jorge Ramos, met yesterday at the Algeciras City Council with the deputy mayor delegates of Citizen Security, Jacinto Muñoz, and of Urban Planning, Diego González de la Torre, to continue advancing in the project to adapt a plot located in La Menacha, in front of the Nuevo Mirador football stadium, so that it can be used to carry out practices and exams to obtain the driving licenses.
The meeting was also attended by representatives of the driving schools, whose association is headed by Damián Roche, to inform them of the details of the action, which will cost approximately 500,000 euros.
Currently there is a preliminary draft drawn up by the City Council and at this meeting we wanted to obtain the opinion of the driving schools, which will ultimately be the recipients of the project, and find out their possible contributions. Likewise, there was the participation of both municipal and Free Zone technicians with the aim of leaving perfectly defined the technical aspects that must be included in the drafting of the final project, all prior to a meeting that will be held with Tráfico de Cádiz, which must supervise it and verify that the new regulations are adopted.
It is worth remembering that this government team, headed by Mayor José Ignacio Landaluce, already in 2011, upon his arrival to the mayor's office, set up a plot next to the Las Palomas bullring so that the exams could be held in the city and prevent students from having to travel to San Fernando.
However, this plot presents certain difficulties in the examinations due to its inclination. Hence this new initiative that is intended to be carried out jointly with the Free Zone, and which will be regulated by agreement.
