The Special Delegate of the State, Jorge Ramos, participated in the opening of the exhibition Impulsores de la Bahía, in which the Consortium collaborates and which can be visited until the 31st of this month
Ramos stressed that “it is Cádiz's time” and that this exhibition demonstrates once again that collaboration and loyalty between institutions are essential to launch projects that revitalize the economy of our province.
The presence of the Free Trade Zone in the Impulsores de la Bahía exhibition area reflects, through images and a log, its historical connection with maritime activity and trade.
Yesterday morning, the Special Delegate of the State in the Cádiz Free Trade Zone, Jorge Ramos, attended the opening ceremony of the 2016 Grand Regatta that is being held in Cádiz until next Sunday, July 31. The Consortium is present at this sporting event in which there are almost fifty boats adorning the Port of Cádiz after the signing last week of two collaboration agreements with the Cádiz City Council and with Gades Port.
Ramos was present at the opening ceremony led by the mayor of Cádiz, José María González, and the president of the Regatta in Spain, Raúl Mimbacas, an event that was also attended by the rest of the sponsors and authorities and later took a tour of the dock and some of the spaces in the exhibition area.
Next, the Free Trade Zone delegate participated in the opening of the exhibition Bay Boosters, in which the Consortium collaborates with the industrial and business fabric of Cádiz with the help of Gades-Port. The delegate was convinced that “it is Cádiz's moment” and that institutional loyalty and collaboration around events such as the Great Regatta place the city and the Bay in the position that corresponds to them due to history and seafaring tradition.
Under the motto Impulsores de la Bahía, an exhibition space has been created – in addition to a restaurant area – that covers three thematic areas: tradition, achievements and challenges; linked to the industry and business fabric in general of the Bay of Cádiz.
The exhibition has a double objective: on the one hand, to exhibit the pride of what the industries and companies of the Bay are and do, have been and will be able to do in the future. The second objective of the exhibition is the pedagogical and informative nature.
Zona Franca has provided a log, in addition to photographs and videos through which it makes a graphic tour of the activity of the Institution from its beginnings, starting with the hard works of the physical constitution of the premises with the work of filling in the land reclaimed from the sea, until reaching the current era with the network of business centers throughout the province and the important extension and expansion project that lays the foundations of the Free Zone of the 21st century with important spaces productive for the area.
In addition, the Consortium has an information point in the business area to assist those interested in any specific equipment or project launched by the Institution and will promote, where appropriate, the dissemination of the regatta in its area of action.
The 2016 Grand Regatta is the fifth reunion between the city and the largest sailboats in the world. The first occasion was in 1992, the magical year of the Universal Exposition in Seville and the Olympic Games in Barcelona. This was followed by the calls of 2000 and 2006 and the last one, in 2012, a date also marked for the people of Cádiz due to the commemoration of the Bicentennial of the Constitution promulgated in the city. All of them had massive support from the public that packed the docks.
