Cádiz Free Trade Zone will collaborate with the School of Industrial Organization (EOI)

Both entities will develop a program to detect new business projects, which will receive training and tutoring

The training process for entrepreneurs will take place in the coworking classrooms of the Nexus Building in Algeciras and the Algeciras City Council and the Campo de Gibraltar Chamber of Commerce will also collaborate.

The Free Trade Zone of Cádiz and the School of Industrial Organization (EOI) will sign a collaboration agreement, through which both entities will work together on a program to support and promote young entrepreneurs, after the Executive Committee of the Consortium authorized the signing of the agreement in its last meeting.

The agreement contemplates the implementation of training and tutoring actions within the framework of coworking spaces, that is, it is about creating a joint space for the establishment of entrepreneurs, previously selected, who will contribute early projects of foreseeable value to society.

In this case, Zona Franca and EOI will open a process to detect young people with innovative ideas and projects, who will receive training, advice, etc., in the coworking classrooms of the Nexus Building that the Consortium has in the city of Algeciras. Throughout the process, which also has the collaboration of the Algeciras City Council and the Campo de Gibraltar Chamber of Commerce, they will receive tutoring to mature and launch the project.

The main objective of the action is to promote entrepreneurship and increase the probability of success of entrepreneurs' projects in a limited period of time, identifying those with the greatest development potential.

Both Zona Franca and EOI intend that once the process is completed, the projects of the entrepreneurs who have the greatest probability of success can be incorporated into the next phase.

It must be remembered that the State Delegate in the Free Zone, Jorge Ramos, met a few weeks ago in Madrid with the general director of the School of Industrial Organization (EOI), dependent on the Ministry of Industry, Energy and Tourism, Fernando Bayón, in a meeting in which the basic lines were established for the preparation of a report on the activity of the Free Zone in the province.

The report aims to highlight the investments that the Free Zone has in the province and will include a detailed study of the economic and social impact that the large extension and expansion project that the Free Zone is carrying out will have in Cádiz, which will go from having 300,000 m2 to 1,300,000 m2 of tax area and which will turn the province into the first productive center in Andalusia.

EOI was founded in 1955 as a result of the agreement reached between the Ministries of Education and Industry, being the first business school in Spain and one of the first in Europe. The primary objective of the EOI is to promote training and the carrying out and promotion of scientific and technical studies and research, fundamentally in the fields of industry, the environment, innovation, new technologies, small and medium-sized businesses, industrial property, the economy and the prospective on the evolution of science and technology and its impact and influence on the productive sector and society.
