LThe initiative arose after the celebration of the Economic and Social Council of the region of which Zona Franca is a member

The Cádiz Free Trade Zone participated last week in the constitution of the Employment Observatory of the Campo de Gibraltar region, which under the presidency of Luis Ángel Fernández as head of the Commonwealth of Municipalities of Campo de Gibraltar, was assisted by Ignacio Macías Fernández and Ángel Gavino Criado, as top representatives of the Government of Spain and the Andalusian Administration in the region.

The representatives of the UGT and CCOO Trade Union Centers, Angel Serrano and Inmaculada Ortega, also participated in the constitution of the Observatory, who shared their opinions and experiences at this meeting, in addition to the representative of the Free Trade Zone, with those of the Large Industries of the Campo de Gibraltar, Manuel Doblado, of the Chamber of Commerce, Carlos Fenoy, of the Confederation of Entrepreneurs of Cádiz, Carmen Romero Matute and of the Bahía de Algeciras Port Authority, which was represented by Diego Recio, as well as the representative of the ZAL, Manuel F. Martínez.

All those present supported the initiative of the Employment Observatory, which arose after the celebration of the Economic and Social Council of the region. The proposal, which was submitted to the Plenary Session of the CES by the president of the regional Institution, Luis Ángel Fernández, was based on the need to know the real situation and future perspectives regarding training and employment policies in the Campo de Gibraltar.

Camilo Lara thanked the Zona Franca for the opportunity to be present in this important forum, which works, like the Cádiz Consortium, to promote economic activity and create jobs with all the tools at its disposal.

The Employment Observatory is a basic instrument to have updated statistics on job demands and offers in Campo de Gibraltar, which together with the Active Population Survey and other existing instruments at the regional level, will enable the acquisition of specific data on the region that favors the channeling of synergies to achieve maximum employability.
