Jorge Ramos explains the projects and activity of the Free Trade Zone at the Joly Group conference in Campo de Gibraltar

The State delegate has reviewed the actions throughout the province and particularly in the Region

The event was attended by the president and directors of the Joly Group, the subdelegate of the Government, mayors of different municipalities in the Region, presidents of port authorities of Cádiz and Algeciras, political and business representatives.

The State delegate in the Free Trade Zone of Cádiz, Jorge Ramos, starred today in the colloquium conference organized by the Joly Group at the Guadacorte Park Hotel in Los Barrios. The event was attended by the president of the Joly Group, José Joly Martínez de Salazar; the general director, Tomás Valiente; the manager of Southern Europe, Juan Fernández de Mesa; the director of Southern Europe, Alberto Grimaldi; the mayors of Algeciras, José Ignacio Landaluce; Los Barrios, Jorge Romero; The Line, Juan Franco; the deputy delegate of the Government, Javier de Torre; the presidents of the port authorities of Cádiz, José Luis Blanco; and Algeciras, Manuel Morón; the president of the Campo de Gibraltar Chamber of Commerce, Carlos Fenoy; the president of the AGI, Manuel Doblado; the Andalusian parliamentarian and provincial president of the Popular Party, Antonio Saldaña, as well as provincial deputies and councilors from different municipalities in the region.

After the welcome by the director of Southern Europe, the mayor of Algeciras presented the conference by Jorge Ramos, entitled “Free Trade Zone of Cádiz: The commitment to improving our production model.” Landaluce reviewed the political and professional career of the State delegate, whom he described as a tireless worker.

With a massive attendance of close to 180 people, the Free Zone delegate explained the situation in which the Free Zone found itself and the current situation, after four years of hard work in which the Consortium has been present throughout the province with actions that exceed 180 million euros in investments.

Jorge Ramos also detailed the important network of business centers, with more than 67,000 m2 of facilities, that has been built in municipalities such as Cádiz capital, Algeciras, El Puerto de Santa María, Chiclana, Arcos, Vejer and highlighted the importance of the recent agreement with the La Línea City Council for the construction of a new Business center, as well as for the search for land for the expansion of the Tax Precinct.

The Consortium delegate also explained the large extension and expansion project that the Cádiz Free Trade Zone is carrying out and that will make it possible for the Cádiz tax area to go from having 330,000 m2 to 1,300,000 m2, with the expansion and expansion in Los Barrios, Cádiz capital, Algeciras, La Línea, Jerez and Arcos.

He added that this project will generate a significant supply of attractive land and available spaces for the establishment of companies, which will increase their competitiveness by being able to benefit from the customs and tax advantages inherent to a tax precinct and will, therefore, save production costs. “The extension and expansion project will position the Cádiz Free Trade Zone as the first industrial and economic hub of the province in the next 2-5 years, with the consequent revitalization of economic activity throughout its area of ​​influence and a business volume in these areas exceeding 1,500 million euros,” he explained.

Jorge Ramos stressed the importance of loyalty and institutional collaboration and encouraged the people of Cádiz to “believe themselves to be the best, because we are a people with great ideas and great workers,” concluded Ramos, who encouraged businessmen who are the ones who create companies and therefore jobs to benefit from the advantages offered by the Free Zone, not only customs and tax, but also in general services, advice, rates, etc.
