The work on the new storage silo warehouse reaches 40% of its execution, once the foundation and structure on which 15 of the 42 projected silos have already been installed
The action, which is expected to be completed at the end of this year, is one of the most important for the city's economy in the coming years.
The works, awarded for €11,145,520 to the UTE SACYR Construcciones S.A.-Pérez Jiménez Construcciones, are co-financed by Funds requested within the Framework of the FEDER Operational Program of Andalusia 2007-2013
The works on the new silo warehouse for Storage, Mixing and Bulk Loading of Flour that Zona Franca develops in collaboration with Harinera Vilafranquina in the Interior Area are progressing at a good pace, which will allow them to be completed by the end of this year. This action involves the expansion of the current facilities of the agri-food company, as the new warehouse is connected to the main plant, forming a functional unit.
Since the work will begin at the end of March, 40% of it has already been carried out, once the foundation consisting of prefabricated piles up to twenty-five meters deep has been completed, given the geotechnical characteristics of the land, in the sea-filled area and the characteristics of the high-rise building. The foundation slab has also been built and a large part of the metal structure has been assembled, on which 15 of the 42 silos that make up the project have already been placed. In parallel, the assembly of the pre-slabs that make up the slabs of the different plants where the machinery whose manufacturing is already underway will be located has already begun.
Once the execution of the structure and placement of silos and pre-slab slabs has been completed, the concreting of the slabs and the façade and roof enclosures will be undertaken.
It should be remembered that the works were awarded to the UTE SACYR Construcciones SA-Pérez Jiménez Construcciones, for an amount of 11,145,520.50 euros (VAT not included) and that they are co-financed by Funds requested within the Framework of the FEDER Operational Program of Andalusia 2007-2013.
This action is one of the most important for the city's economy, since it will generate economic activity, by increasing the storage capacity of Vilafranquina by 7,933 m3, with the consequent increase in its competitiveness and its reflection in the city's business environment.
The silo ship, in figures
The construction, consisting of an installation of aerial metal silos intended for the collection of flour, will have an area of 631.28 m2 with a maximum height of 47.10 meters. This silo module will be adjacent to the existing grain warehouses although separate from the existing flour production building and connected only by an aerial walkway at the top.
The first level will be used for truck loading, clean production area, access, warehouses and compressor room. The following levels will be used for machinery and process equipment, while the last level will be used to fill the silos.
The investment in machinery, which consists of a weighing system, hoist, storage silos, installation of mechanical equipment, sanitary equipment, elevator and pallet racking, amounts to 8.3 million euros.
