Start the Innovation Startup Cádiz Camp, organized by Zona Franca, Chamber of Commerce of Cádiz and Incyde Foundation. The 15 selected young people arrived yesterday in El Puerto de Santa María to begin their participation in this pioneering campus in Andalusia, which will run until October 31 and whose objective is to establish startups with high innovative content.
The 15 young people were selected last July by a committee of experts from the three organizing entities from among 48 applications submitted. Engineers of various specialties, graduates in Economics and Business or students of Fine Arts, Chemistry or Computer Science, form the profile of the participants, whose creative potential, entrepreneurial spirit and knowledge of new technologies were valued.
65% of those selected come from the province of Cádiz, while the rest are made up of young people from all over Spain, including those from Seville, Tenerife, Madrid and the Basques. Among the people of Cadiz there are representatives of the capital, San Fernando, Puerto Real, El Puerto de Santa María, El Bosque and Jimena.
Once the development of the content of the program begins today, Tuesday, which will be carried out at the Las Salinas Business Center in the Free Trade Zone of Cádiz and in the offices of the Chamber in the municipality of Porto, it is expected that the Special State delegate in the Consortium, Jorge Ramos, and the president of the Chamber, Ángel Juan Pascual, will visit the participants in the coming weeks to learn first-hand about their progress, as well as to exchange with them and their coaches the ideas and experiences that are emerging during the development of the campus.
Program Features
During the program, which has the support of the European Social Fund, the 15 young people will live together for 7 weeks to carry out an innovative project. To achieve this, they will have specialized mentors in various fields, who will offer them training and advice. This is a different starting point, since instead of working on a business idea already conceived, it will be the young people who, after pooling their knowledge and seeing the market needs, will create their innovative project concept within the camp itself and will even be able to scale up the prototype if it is successful.
Among the activities they will carry out in these almost two months are introductory workshops on Lean Startup and Customer Development; workshops on inspiration and creativity; workshops on business and entrepreneurship strategies; workshops on cutting-edge technologies and sales and marketing, among others.
During the first week, presentations of the participants will be made and creativity workshops and coaching activities will be given. Already in the second week, the participants will begin to think about possible business ideas and at the end the participants will be divided into 3 groups of 5 people each.
In the third week each group will work on the development of their idea, at the same time workshops will be held. During the fourth week, finance and search for financing and partner workshops will be held. The fifth week will consist of a pre-evaluation phase in which the mentors will help the entrepreneurs detect errors, resolve doubts and improve proposals. In the sixth week we will work on the business plan of each group. Finally, in the seventh week, a final project status report will be prepared and the company and the prototype, if applicable, will be launched.
Zona Franca opted for the development of this pioneering campus in the province and throughout Andalusia after the good reception this format had in Vigo at the beginning of the year and from the conviction of the need to support initiatives that strengthen the business fabric, specifically those entrepreneurs who are beginning their journey in the workplace.
