Antonio Sanz, Jorge Ramos and José Ignacio Landaluce inaugurate the Nexus building in the Zona Franca in Algeciras

The total investment in the building has amounted to more than 6.25 million euros, co-financed by funds requested in the Feder Operational Framework for Andalusia 2007-2013

The Government Delegate in Andalusia, Antonio Sanz, the special delegate of the State in the Free Zone of Cádiz, Jorge Ramos, and the mayor of Algeciras, José Ignacio Landaluce, have opened this Saturday the Nexus de Algeciras building, the new business center that the Free Zone has built on the plot located next to the Algeciras Chamber of Commerce. The event was attended by representatives of the Algecireño Consistory, the construction company in charge of the work, roads and works, and the management and technical team of the Free Zone.

The Government delegate in Andalusia congratulated both institutions and highlighted the importance of the institutional collaboration that has made it possible to carry out this important project for the city.
Antonio Sanz also highlighted the great work carried out throughout the province by the Consortium, placing special emphasis on the Campo de Gibraltar, where the projects underway in the Free Zone reach an investment of 59.1 million euros, which includes the acquisition and implementation of the Tax Precinct in El Fresno, in Los Barrios, where important industries will be located, three of which are currently closed and which will generate more than 500 jobs, in addition to the implementation of the tax precinct in Cortijo Real, in Algeciras, currently in the urban planning phase.
Sanz pointed out that the Free Zone is more present than ever in Algeciras and in the Campo de Gibraltar Region, a Region that will therefore be consolidated as a fundamental artery of the productive and economic muscle thanks to the expansion of the Cadiz Free Zone , boosting job creation and wealth generation.
The Government delegate in Andalusia highlighted that this inauguration and the project to expand tax precincts demonstrate that for the Government of Spain, the Cádiz Free Trade Zone and the province as a whole are a priority, as well as its industrial development and job creation. In this sense, he recalled the Reindustrialization Aid Program, endowed with 26.28 million for Campo de Gibraltar and 61.77 million for the Bay of Cádiz.
Finally, Sanz stressed that thanks to the ITI program (integrated territorial investment) it is demonstrated that the province is also a priority for the European Union, since it is the only one in Spain that is integrated into the ITI program.
Jorge Ramos, on the other hand, indicated that the building that has been inaugurated is “a great work for a great city, in a situation of consolidating its expansion”, and pointed out that “providing the city with an eminently business building as it is, is in line with the doctrine that defends both the City Council and Free Zone to boost economic activity and generate wealth”.
Ramos also influenced the importance of the extension of the free zone in Algeciras and Los Barrios, which will provide the region of new productive spaces with the advantages offered by a fiscal enclosure.
José Ignacio Landaluce coincided with the delegate of Zona Franca in what is necessary that the Nexus building is and highlighted the importance of having an emblematic building magnificently located next to the Chamber of Commerce, which will be a business and employment generating nucleus. "This building will create heritage and economic wealth, because it offers the necessary tools to entrepreneurs who want to launch initiatives and, thereby, generate wealth and employment that is our fundamental objective," said the mayor.
The new construction of the free zone in Algeciras is a modern three -storey -and -basement building building, with a total area of ​​8,445.59 m2, which includes a capacity with capacity for 87 vehicles in the basement plant.
The Business Center will be located on the first floor, where entrepreneurs and young entrepreneurs have the possibility of opting for spaces from 24 m2, with services such as furniture, wifi and air conditioning, among others.

Nine offices are located on the ground floor from 50 to 299 m2 and on the second floor, high quality spaces are offered from 63 to 237 m2. In all cases, facilities can be adapted to the needs of users.
The building works, whose total investment reaches 6.25 million euros and rises on a municipal ownership plot of 4,000 m2, began in 2013 and were awarded to the company Vías y Construcciones S.A for a contract of 4,796,574.98 euros VAT not included.
