The building, which is co-financed by FEDER Funds, will house a modern business center with 15 offices, multipurpose classrooms, a coworking room, cafeteria and commercial premises.
A total of 25 companies have submitted to the public tender opened on August 20 by the Free Trade Zone of Cádiz to tender the execution works corresponding to the project called “Administrative Building in the equipment plot in the U.E.-2 of the S.A.U.11 ´BUENAVISTA I´, Vejer de la Frontera, Cádiz.” The deadline for receiving offers ended on September 16 at 2:00 p.m.
Once the proposals have been received, the procedure to follow is, first of all, their administrative qualification, after which on September 24, the technical offers will be opened in a public event and once they have been technically assessed, the economic offers will be opened.
The works were put out to tender for an amount of 2,272,490.47 euros and a maximum execution period of 11 months, considering the reduction of this period to a minimum of nine months.
This important facility for the municipality and the region of La Janda is co-financed by European Funds, within the framework of the FEDER Operational Program of Andalusia 2007-2013.
The building, in figures
The future Vejer building, which will sit on a municipal plot of approximately 3,550 m2, will have a constructed area of 2,087.57 m2, which will be distributed in a building with a fragmented composition, with pure, white volumes, in accordance with its location and the architecture of its surroundings.
In one of the areas of the building, the Free Trade Zone Business Center will be located on a total of 1,557 m2 and will have 15 offices, classrooms for different uses and a coworking room, in addition to having 300 m2 for commercial premises. On the other hand, the other area of the building, about 529 m2, will be for the Hospitality School and municipal services, a fact that makes it possible for the project to have a guaranteed return on its investment.
It is worth remembering that this project was born from the collaboration between institutions, having signed in August 2012 the delegate of the Cádiz Free Trade Zone, Jorge Ramos, and the mayor of Vejer, José Ortiz, a collaboration agreement to carry out the aforementioned equipment in the municipality, which will offer new spaces for entrepreneurs and liberal professionals in a professional environment and with services that will increase the competitiveness of their businesses.
The action progressed and in July of last year, the building project was awarded to architect Manuel Quijano Vallejo for an amount of 39,700 euros, also with co-financing from FEDER Funds.
With the launch of the works on this Business Center in Vejer, 3 of the Business Centers that Zona Franca promotes in the province are already under development, in Algeciras and Jerez, with the one in Arcos and the one in Chiclana de la Frontera being processed.
