In the coming days, the Free Trade Zone of Cádiz will begin the demolition work of the warehouse in which the old Super Cádiz was located, in the Exterior Industrial Estate of the Free Trade Zone, at the confluence of Magallanes streets on the corner with Ronda de Vigilancia.
The company in charge of the work will be Demoliciones Córdoba, which was awarded the tender opened by the Consortium, for an amount of 30,500 euros.
The old construction has an area of 3,618 m2 on two floors, is rectangular in shape, with concrete foundations and cement block walls and has a metal structure that is very deteriorated due to the ingress of water.
The purchase of the old “Super Cádiz”, whose plot has a surface area of 2,238 m2 and which has a loan from the Ministry of Industry for Aid to Reindustrialization, is part of the important remodeling process of this area of the city, included in the PGOU, whose management is in charge of the OPEX -Office for the Attraction of Investments in the Exterior Industrial Estate of the Free Trade Zone-, a joint office between the Consortium and the city council.
The Consortium has built the Europa Building in the Interior Campus, an office building that has 17 industrial warehouses for the relocation of companies that need to relocate their activity to begin the reorganization of the different execution units.
Since 2011, OPEX has carried out a thorough diagnostic work on the situation in which the outer industrial estate of the Free Trade Zone is located, and has divided what will be the main urban planning operation of the city for the coming years into 15 execution units, in which the 515,000 m2 of the industrial estate are distributed.
