The Cádiz Free Zone has received important support from the Government of the nation, which in its 2014 Budget has reserved an amount of 66.6 million euros for the Cádiz Institution. This investment reveals Madrid's strong commitment to the Cádiz Consortium, which will allow it to execute projects throughout the province, while laying the foundations for Cádiz to be the epicenter of the Southern European Logistics Platform, an initiative promoted by the mayor and president of the Consortium Teófila Martínez.
Free Zone, which in the Ministry document is described as an economic engine, is already working on many of these projects and is carrying out a detailed study for the development of these actions, which will bring the Consortium's services and facilities to all parts of the province.
The investments planned by the Consortium for 2014 include, among others, funds for service buildings in Jerez (5 million), Arcos (2 million), Vejer (1.8 million), Chiclana (939,000 euros), El Puerto de Santa María (1.3 million), Algeciras (1.8 million) and Cádiz (1.4 million), in addition to the development of important projects for its area of influence such as Tiro Janer (3.6 million), Interior Campus (985,000 million) and other actions in Puerto Real (6.5 million), Rota (247,000 euros), Los Barrios (2.7 million), etc. It is also important to highlight the 20 million euros allocated to the Reindus 2014 Plan, as well as 10 million euros from Feder Funds.
The Free Trade Zone considers this economic injection of vital importance that will allow it to create a business and industrial infrastructure that encourages the establishment of companies and consequently the creation of jobs, following the line of work implemented since Jorge Ramos was appointed State delegate.
The allocation allocated to the Free Zone in the Budget confirms the recent support of the Ministry of Finance, which positively valued the proposal to enlarge and expand the tax area to other municipalities in Cadiz and committed to 200 million euros over the next five years. The Cádiz Free Trade Zone plans to expand its extension, going from an area of 300,000 square meters that it currently has to more than 1,300,000 square meters.
