The Free Trade Zone and the Rota City Council sign the agreement for the construction of 28 warehouses

The State delegate in the Free Trade Zone, Jorge Ramos, and the mayor of Rota, Eva Corrales, completed yesterday in the Rota City Council the entire procedure for the construction of 28 warehouses in the Villa de Rota Business Park with the signing of the collaboration agreement, on the one hand, and with the signing of the deed, on the other.
Eva Corrales, with members of her corporation, and Jorge Ramos, accompanied by directors of the Cádiz Consortium, later visited the site where the warehouses will be located.
“An important day for Rota residents and especially for businessmen and entrepreneurs who will have a space in Rota to create their businesses and grow, and fundamentally to generate something that is such a priority for this Government team, such as employment.” This is how the mayor of Rota referred to this important agreement that marks “a before and after” in the tireless work with which the municipal government (PP-RRUU) has been promoting this project since the previous legislature, to carry out the RI1 industrial estate, the only land with an industrial vocation that Rota currently has.
The mayor thanked the Free Trade Zone delegate for his role in unblocking this project and with the compensation from the current National Government, which instead of a loan that would have to be repaid, has allocated to Rota a Reindus subsidy of 1.7 million euros in non-refundable funds, a subsidy that "will have a direct impact on the lowering of the warehouses to facilitate access for businessmen in these moments of crisis."
Eva Corrales thanked the work and support of all the parties involved, from Jorge Ramos to Minister José Manuel Soria himself and the General Director of Industry, Manuel Valle, including the municipal and Free Trade Zone technicians. Last but not least, he wanted to make a special mention of the previous mayor and current colleague in Government, Lorenzo Sánchez Alonso "for having worked tirelessly to promote this project that today, despite many, is a reality."
Jorge Ramos, for his part, began his speech by highlighting the figure of Lorenzo Sánchez as a “determining factor” in this project, which is materialized with an agreement that makes it possible to start something important and obligatory with the Rota City Council and addressing the mayor he stated that "the time has come to correct errors” in reference to the difficulties and stones in the road that this City Council has had to face in these years. The Free Zone delegate assured that "we have done our homework in the worst possible scenario", as shown by this agreement with which "we are creating the conditions to develop an urban planning action that allows entrepreneurs to establish their companies and that these companies can generate employment."
Jorge Ramos recalled the numerous meetings held with the Mayor and members of the Government team and the work carried out by the technicians for this agreement, and announced that speed will mark the roadmap of this project, so the intention is to tender and subsequently award the works as soon as possible, and reach the inauguration of these warehouses.
The work will consist of the construction of 28 nest ships on a plot of 7,407.83 m² and has a budget of 2,218,400.50 euros, VAT not included. It has a non-refundable subsidy of 1.77 million euros from the Reindus Plan.
The aid granted by the Ministry of Industry for this project allows for a very significant reduction in the sales prices of the warehouses to be built, so the prices that will be offered to the applicants will be considerably reduced.
This drop in the market prices of the warehouses, which will have an approximate surface area of 250 m², will have a very positive impact on their acquisition and the implementation of productive activities that generate employment in the Industrial Estate, Jorge Ramos' first objective since he took charge of the Free Trade Zone.
