Zona Franca announces the tender for the works of the Business Center in Jerez

The Free Trade Zone of Cádiz has already sent to the Official Journal of the European Union (OJEU) the announcement of prior information for the tender of the execution works for the Rehabilitation of the former San Agustín Convent, in Jerez de la Frontera, for a Business Center and Business Services, in addition to the redevelopment of the nearby Puerto Street, an essential requirement to advance the tender deadlines for the works that will take place imminently.
 According to the publication, the tender budget for the work, financed with Feder Funds, is around 6 million euros and it is a mixed works contract with the purchase and sale of property owned by the Consortium or, where appropriate, provision of guarantee through bank guarantee. The execution period is 21 months.
 The project, which was presented at the end of September with the assistance of the Undersecretary of the Treasury, contemplates the rehabilitation of the property to put it at the service of citizens and reverts it to the city by creating a Business Center available to entrepreneurs and small self-employed people, who will have their own space to generate employment and wealth in the city.
 The works include the comprehensive rehabilitation of the old convent and the urban reorganization of Plaza Esteve. The rehabilitation of the convent will mean that Jerez has a state-of-the-art, modern and functional building. Among the technical data of the project, it can be highlighted that it will be three stories high, with a floor area of ​​1,714 square meters and a constructed area of ​​4,530 square meters.
 The 50 offices will have a surface area between 15 and 60 square meters and the building will also have multiple-use and shared meeting rooms with spaces intended to support the established companies. It is a building that will symbolize the historical Jerez and the Jerez of the future through two elements, stone and glass.
 The project will also carry out the rehabilitation of the main cloister and the annex building, the recovery of the original state of the building and aesthetic adaptation, of the patio of the main cloister as a multifunctional space covered by a state-of-the-art glass vault.
 The action includes the redevelopment of Puerto Street to adapt it to the new uses of the old convent with the creation of a roundabout, a median, an urban bus and tourist bus stop and the exterior development of the building. As well as the reorganization of Plaza Esteve to highlight such an emblematic space in the center as the Central Food Market.
