The celebration of the Executive Committee of the Cádiz Free Trade Zone Consortium last Tuesday the 29th was the starting signal to launch an action plan in the province on which Jorge Ramos and the Free Zone management team had been working since the inauguration of the delegate last February. Since this date, there have been periodic contacts with City Councils of different municipalities that have requested Zona Franca for its support as a dynamic agent in the province to carry out business facilities that make possible the growth of the economies of their municipalities and, consequently, the generation of employment.
Specifically, the aforementioned Executive Committee has approved the construction of new business centers in Jerez, Algeciras, and Chiclana, projects that will involve a total investment of around 21 million euros, which will be financed with its own funds and also with the European FEDER Funds. , in the 2007-2013 framework.
In Jerez, an agreement will be signed with the city council that will contemplate an action of approximately 7 million euros and that will involve the construction of a business center in the convent of San Agustín, which will be rehabilitated, of approximately 5,000 square meters and the reorganization of Plaza Esteve.
For its part, in Algeciras, where Zona Franca had already signed an agreement with the city council, the delegate, Jorge Ramos, presented on April 23 the project for the new business building to obtain the building permit, last step to be able to put out to tender the project for the works of the aforementioned building, which will be built on a municipally owned plot, measuring 4,000 square meters, located on Juan Pérez Arriete Avenue next to the Chamber of Commerce. The project, which is also co-financed by the FEDER Funds, has a budget of 7,800,000 euros and will have a total constructed area of 8,445.59 square meters.
Finally, the Consortium received the approval of the Executive Committee to begin the first administrative procedures that will involve an investment of close to 5.5 million euros for the opening of a business center in Chiclana de la Frontera.
These three business centers are added to those already existing in Cádiz, in the Heracles building; in the Port, in the Las Salinas building; and in Algeciras, in the Almanzor building, centers that are very well received, with an occupancy of between 85 and 90% and that are designed so that companies and professionals can enjoy a complete organization with excellent facilities, the latest technology and staff. qualified, without incurring high fixed costs, purchasing furniture and procedures, being able to start your activity from the first day.
