The delegate of the Free Trade Zone visits the works of the OROMAS pasta factory in Cabezuela

Harinera Vilafranquina is one of the main companies installed in the Interior Area of ​​the Free Trade Zone of Cádiz. For this reason, the State delegate in the Consortium, Jorge Ramos, visited yesterday Thursday the works, already very advanced, of the pasta factory that OROMAS, from the same business group as Harinera Vilafranquina, in Bajo de la Cabezuela. Ramos congratulated the representatives of BEAUTIFUL and of Vilafranquin flour millfor the launch of this business initiative, with an investment of 46 million euros, which should be an example and serve as a reference on how to gain competitiveness through specialization and modernization to promote the wealth and productive fabric of the province.

Luis Miguel Domingo, general director of OROMAS, and José Alemany, company administrator, led the visit in which the 3 production lines that the company will have were shown on the ground, with much of the machinery already installed. factory, with a capacity of 4,000 kg/hour each. Even Domingo stressed that the objective of OROMAS is for the business to prosper and for this first phase to be expanded and expanded with new lines for which land has been reserved within the same factory. The 22,000 square meter factory is scheduled to begin operating in the second half of the year.

Already inside the Fiscal Precinct, the State delegate in the Free Trade Zone also wanted to contemplate the operation of the new baking and training center that Harinera Vilafranquina launched last summer to promote R & D in the milling sector, with the investigation of the behavior of new varieties of wheat in the baking phase, the formulation of new flours for specific uses and the experimentation of new products for the bakery, pastry and pastry sectors.

Ramos, accompanied on this occasion by Asensi Fuentes, responsible for Export and Logistics of the Harinera Vilafranquina Group, and by Jose Rivero, director of the Harinera plant in the Free Trade Zone, was pleased that initiatives like this one are committed to R&D in the primary sector. and apply new technologies to improve products, while investing in training and specialization to attract new customers and satisfy consumer demand.

The facilities have 193 square meters, distributed between a training room with capacity for 34 people, a kneading room and an oven room. The total investment amounts to 170,000 euros, of which 70,000 euros correspond to the adaptation and conditioning of the facilities, works and works carried out by the Free Zone Consortium, while the remaining 100,000 euros have been contributed by Harinera Vilafranquina with technology, equipment and human resources.

The baking and training center joins the different projects that the Free Trade Zone has developed in the Interior Campus to promote the growth of the food sector, among which the Caladero industrial fish processing plant stands out; the new Procosur plant, and the new Harinera Vilafranquina silo warehouses. It should be noted that the Harinera plant in the Free Trade Zone is the one with the largest milling capacity in all of Europe: 2,200 MT/day. More than 500,000 MT/year of final products are sold from Cádiz and more than 1,200 clients are served.
