The State delegate, Fran González, has presented the plan to the highest governing body of the Consortium, chaired by the mayor of the city and president of the Plenary Session, Bruno García
It will be the roadmap for the coming years once the Viability Plan launched in 2020 has been more than fulfilled.
At its meeting this morning, the Plenary Session of the Cádiz Free Trade Zone approved the Strategic Plan prepared by the company Deloitte and which has been presented to the highest governing body of the entity by the State delegate, Fran González. This Plan will be launched shortly and will be the roadmap for the period between 2026 and 2030.
The 2026-2030 Strategic Plan takes the baton to consolidate the situation marked by the 2020-2025 Viability Plan, self-imposed by the current management and which has been more than fulfilled even before the end of the period designated for it. The management carried out since 2020 has made it possible to turn the economic situation 180º and achieve profits for the first time after 13 years of losses, in addition to reducing the total debt by 53%. The commercial dynamism and the new industry 4.0 model around the Blue Economy have contributed to this, with an ecosystem that has attracted leading companies.
The 2026-2030 Strategic Plan marks a strategic line that will provide continuity to the management that began in 2020 and that has provided such good results to the entity. One of the main lines of action, in addition to maintaining a healthy financial situation, will be to position the Cádiz Free Trade Zone as a reference in the Blue Economy, sustainability and technological innovation, with the promotion and promotion of projects linked to industry 4.0, the Blue Economy and blue carbon.
Another important line of work is to consolidate its positioning at an international level, especially in Latin America, influencing the work of the board of directors of the Association of Free Trade Zones of the Americas (AZFA) and making Cádiz visible as an engine, in addition to reinforcing advice to companies on their path to access foreign markets.
The State delegate in the Free Zone has explained that the approval of the Strategic Plan by the Plenary of the Consortium "evidences a real change in the trend of the Free Zone of Cádiz. We have gone from a Viability Plan that forced us to face a complicated economic situation and to redirect the strategic lines and projects, to a new model from which we have overcome that economic situation."
Fran González added that "we draw a positive horizon, with the recovery of identity and an image closely linked to landmark and driving projects. This document, without a doubt, accompanies and helps a projection of that work."
