Free Zone of Cádiz and Navalia deliver the Blue Zone Forum Navalia Meeting 2025 Awards

The Spanish Maritime Cluster, the president of the Association of Naval and Oceanic Engineers of Spain, Astilleros Gondán and José Antonio Rodríguez Poch posthumously have been the winners

The Blue Zone Forum Navalia Meeting 2025 Awards were presented tonight at an event held in a well-known Port winery, organized within the framework of the event and awarded by Zona Franca and Navalia to recognize the work carried out by people, entities and companies in the Blue Economy and naval sector.

In this way, the awards, which have debuted in this edition, have recognized the professional career of Diego Fernández Casado, president of the Association of Naval and Oceanic Engineers of Spain; the work of the Asturian Gondán Shipyards, for its centenary; posthumously, to the former director of Navantia in the Bay of Cádiz, José Antonio Rodríguez Poch; and to the Spanish Maritime Cluster.

The prize awarded by the Cádiz Free Trade Zone to the Spanish Maritime Cluster consisted of a work by the Cadiz artist Marina Gadea, a work that has the seas and oceans as its central theme, while the rest of the awards, awarded by Navalia, have been works by the famous Galician ceramics company Sargadelos.

Marina Gadea Gadea has explained that her work is developed at the intersection between contemporary art, science and digital technology. His work focuses on the reinterpretation of the landscape genre in the current context, where our perception of the environment is increasingly mediated by screens and digital technologies. It explores elements and archetypes of the traditional seascape, establishing a dialogue between pictorial tradition and new forms of scientific and digital visualization. Its methodology incorporates bathymetric data from the seabed and cartographic studies, transforming the way we perceive and
We represent the territory.

The Blue Zone Forum-Navalia Meeting 2025 is part of the ZF Blue Core-Vivero of Companies 4.0 project, financed by 85% by the European Regional Development Fund (FEDER) within the Plurirregional Operational Program of Spain Feder 2021-2027, through the INCyDE Foundation.
