The Spanish explorer closed his participation with a standing ovation from the public after sharing how to apply the lessons learned in his extreme expeditions to the business field.
The exploratory mentality that allowed Nacho Dean to become the first person to swim across the five continents was the focus of his inspiring presentation at the Blue Zone Forum 2025, where the Spanish adventurer demonstrated how the values of exploration can transform organizations and projects.
Before a dedicated audience, Dean related his experiences in seas around the planet with the current challenges of the blue economy: “the same determination that allowed me to swim between continents is what we need to build a
sustainable economic model with the oceans.” The explorer relived key moments of his 33,000 km traveled on foot and his voyages swimming between continents, extracting lessons applicable to business leadership.
His intervention, which closed the sustainability block of the forum, established parallels between the preparation of extreme expeditions and the management of innovative projects.
“Adversity at sea taught me that resilience is not only about resisting, but about adapting intelligently,” he said under the watchful eye of entrepreneurs and representatives of the maritime sector.
Dean's participation was part of the Blue Zone Forum's strategy of incorporating voices capable of connecting adventure with business innovation. His message about the importance of “navigating unknown waters with conviction”; It resonated especially in a context marked by environmental and technological challenges.
El Blue Zone Forum – Navalia Meeting 2025, held at the Cádiz Conference Center, thus consolidated its commitment to speakers who combine extraordinary feats with practical teachings for the productive fabric linked to the sea.
