Cádiz premieres the Maritime container building in an incubazul base zone, icon and reference of the new industrial model of Free Zone

The first vice president of the Government and Minister of Finance, María Jesús Montero, has presided over the opening ceremony of which it will be the definitive host of the Blue Economy Incubator

The State delegate, Fran González, thanked the help of European funds and the support of the central government in this project, which becomes an emblem of change for the industrial zone of the city of Cádiz

The first vice president of the Government and Minister of Finance, María Jesús Montero, has presided over the opening ceremony of the building composed of maritime containers recycled in an incubazul base zone, which will definitively house the incubator of the Free Zone of Cádiz and that becomes a reference and icon of the new industrial model 4.0, more innovative and sustainable, which is impiring the Consortium.

In the opening ceremony, in which the President of the INCyDE Foundation and the Chamber of Commerce of Spain, José Luis Bonet; the mayor of the city, Bruno García; and the delegate of the Free Zone, Fran González, have been present numerous business representatives and authorities, among which were the Government delegate in Andalusia, Pedro Fernández; and the subdelegate of the Government in Cádiz, Blanca Flores.

After the institutional opening ceremony, Fran González and his technical team, together with the head of Carquero Architecture, a study in charge of the project, has accompanied the vice president of the Government and other authorities in a tour of the facilities, explaining the details of the building, which has a total surface built of 1,951.33 m2 and 1,415.73 m2 of terraces and free spaces distributed in three floors and where the low Sustainability, innovation and comfort.

Attendees have been able to check the quality of the facilities, which has an auditorium for celebration of events, coworking rooms, meeting rooms and training, offices, technological laboratory and different spaces to exchange information and experiences, including a restoration zone. The dynamic configuration of the building shows the priority given to free spaces, the commitment to sustainability and interconnection.

The building, whose total investment has been more than 5 million euros, is equipped with high -tech tools that allow the implementation of highly innovative companies, a predominant line of work in the strategy of the Free Zone of Cádiz, while making user stay more comfortable. As a complement to the whole complex, on the third floor, housing spaces coexist, all with outdoor meeting places since all plants have terraces to promote coexistence among entrepreneurs.

The first vice president of the Government has stressed that Incubazul "is considered one of the best incubators in Spain and the first of Andalusia and has broad international recognition." In this sense, Montero recalled that "a hundred companies have been selected in acceleration programs, 81% of incubated startups progress, 41% already invoice and 28% have a high technological value." Likewise, the first vice president of the Government has indicated that Incubazul is already "an indisputable reference in Azul Economics, a sector that uses 900,000 people in Spain and that almost 100,000 million euros invoice."

 "Today is a great day for the free zone and for Cádiz. This building is a very important milestone, not only for what it means to have a building of these characteristics and with these benefits in the city but also for what it represents for the consortium and its new model of industry 4.0, innovative, sustainable and committed to the environment and the sea, with the blue economy," said the delegate of the State, Fran González, Fran González, in his speech.

González has thanked the help of European funds, carried out through the INCyDE Foundation, and the support and confidence of the central government. "Incubazul is the best example of how these funds and this European policy can change reality and how you can bet on business and economic growth models that result in the economy, but also in the ecological transition. Because Incubazul has established itself as an element, the most important of the Bay and the Province, of innovation, of attraction of the talent and defense of the environment and the circular economy," said the head of the consortium.

Fran González added that "our commitment to the circular economy, innovation and entrepreneurship is reinforced day by day and we have already initiated a new project around it, the ZF Blue Core, the nursery of companies 4.0 that will further enhance our Ecosystem of Blue Economy and our commitment to create business fabric taking advantage of the talent of our environment."

The president of the INCYDE Foundation and the Chamber of Commerce of Spain, José Luis Bonet, said that “with the implementation of Incubazul, there are already five high -tech incubators created in Andalusia and one of the 26 that make up the network of incubators promoted by INCyde thanks to the support of European funds”.

In addition, he added that "Incubazul is a sample of the transforming power of these funds, which are allowing to promote innovation and entrepreneurship in strategic sectors such as the blue economy."

The Incubazul Base Area building was projected as a reference center of the circular economy, of a more sustainable industrial model committed to the environment and the act of first stone was also chaired by María Jesús Montero in July 2022. The peculiarity of the building, made up of recycled maritime containers whose useful life is 10/15 years, has made it necessary that the construction has had to be done in a more careful and meticulous conventional.

The action has resulted not only to a unique, spectacular and efficient building, but is also promoting a change in one of the city's areas with the highest urban deficiencies, improving the entrance and exit of Cádiz with a project that will give life, dynamism and boiling to the entire environment, giving meaning to the industrial zone of the city. In fact, next to the building goes a hotel that must be built in the coming months and very close on the same plot a student residence will be located.

The Cádiz Base Project and its Incubazul Blue Economics incubator are born to attract Industry 4.0. and generate a space of opportunity for Cadiz talent, promoting entrepreneurship and labor diversification in the city, bay and province. Thus, the consortium is committed to a model of sustainable economy and respect for the environment that connects all the marine potential of our province with new business strategies that generate wealth and employment.
