The Cadiz consortium launches this new support line to Blue Biotechnology initiatives within the framework of the European Poctep Iberobio project
The advice program combines training, mentorization and networking to accelerate the growth of companies in the sector with international expansion potential
The Free Zone of Cádiz has launched an initiative aimed at promoting the growth of innovative startups and projects of the biotechnological sector linked to the blue economy, within the framework of the European Cross -Berbian Cross -border Cooperation Project.
The action aims to promote the internationalization, financing and consolidation of Biotech Blue Biotech companies and projects through specialized acceleration programs and access to a network of strategic opportunities. This line of work is part of the Interreg Spain-Portugal (Poctep) cooperation program, in which the Cadiz consortium participates as a partner.
The program will take place between the months of June and September 2025 and is structured around two complementary itineraries. The first of these is "access to financing", with personalized advice to design attractive proposals for investors, reinforce the business pitch and improve the preparation to access both public and private financing. The second itinerary is “internationalization” and offers strategic training and accompaniment to identify opportunities in foreign markets, adapt the business model to international contexts and establish an expansion roadmap both itineraries complement each other with specialized mentoring, intensive training and networking activities, offering the participating projects real tools to strengthen their growth.
The call is aimed at companies and projects of the biotechnological sphere blue or with the ability to hybridize with this sector, which are looking for investment or considering themselves to new markets. The selection will take into account factors such as the degree of innovation, technical and economic viability, and scalability potential. With this initiative, the Free Zone of Cádiz reinforces its role as a dynamic agent of high -added sectors, betting on the development of scientific and technological entrepreneurship as an engine of economic transformation in the cross -border environment.
The actions carried out under the Poctep Ibero_bio project are co-financed by the European Regional Development Fund (FEDER) through the Interreg VI program to Spain-Portugal (Poctep) 2021-2027, which promotes cross-border cooperation projects with the support of the European Union.
