The annual accounts of the Free Zone of Cádiz of Exercise 2023 confirm the good evolution of the consortium after the recent reception, at the end of March, of the result of the audit carried out by the general intervention of the State Administration (IGAE), which has issued a favorable report without provisions, made this that occurs for the first time since the IGAE began in 2010 to audit the accounts of the Consortium Gaditano.
The annual accounts of the aforementioned exercise have been exposed at the Plenary Meeting of the Consortium held today, where the good financial health of the consortium has been shown after the self-compliance of the 2021-2025 viability plan, which will give way in the coming months to the Strategic Plan 2026-2030.
The 2023 exercise report shows a highly positive economic year and shows an improvement in the financial situation, with significant growth in business activity in the fiscal enclosure that has had an impact on increasing the resource of companies. The transformation into the financial health of the consortium is reflected in the business figure, with an increase of 6%, and the exploitation benefit, which reached 2.1 million euros.
The 2023 accounts also reflect the reduction of financial expenses for the fourth consecutive year, which in this case represents 15% compared to the previous year, the result of the restructuring of the financial debt initiated in 2020. The IGAE report highlights the reduction of the debt and cites a financial savings of 3.9 million euros, referring to the early cancellations of the reindus loans.
The accounts of that year also show that the Free Zone of Cádiz reached in 2023 a positive maneuver of 17 million euros, with the financial balance reached in 2022, when the negative trend was reversed for the first time in 15 years.
