The Free Zone of Cádiz exchanges experiences with free zones of Cartagena de Indias

A delegation of the Cadiz consortium, together with the Frizonia company and a representation of the association of the free zones of the Americas, could know the activity and dynamics in sustainability of the Free Zone Park Central and Zofranca Sa

Both companies are linked to the commercial hub of Cartagena de Indias, the main port of Colombia and that has commercial connectivity with all of Latin America

A delegation from the Free Zone of Cádiz has visited the Free Zone Park Central and Zofranca Cartagena, two business parks with a fiscal enclosure operation that operate in Cartagena de Indias, within the framework of the organized mission with a view to going to Colombiamar 25, the main Naval Fair of Colombia and is held this week in the Caribbean city.

During the visit, the Special Delegate of the State for the Free Zone of Cádiz, Fran González, and the Director of Business Promotion and Foreign Trade, Marta Domínguez, have been accompanied by a representation of the Gaditana Frizonia company, by the hand of their CEO, Carlos González, and Mauro Mendoza, director of M&S Group, local partner of Frizonia. There is the circumstance that Frizonia has been operating in Cartagena for more than 12 years with its subsidiary, Frizonia Colombia Sas, offering naval air conditioning and cooling solutions that is so important in this framework. Julio Rodríguez, executive director of the Association of the Free Zones of the Americas, who has led to the mission as one of the interrelation tasks and connection made by the organization with its partners and that provides greater guarantee and reliability to relations is also attended.

This mission is part of the internationalization strategy of companies in the Free Zone of Cádiz that helps firms interested in knowledge, deepening and exploration of relations with other countries and other free zones, so that it connects points to promote the growth and expansion of the interested parties.

In the case of Central Park of Cartagena, the activity they develop in the 115 hectares that it manages where more than 50 companies of all kinds are located, which enjoy financial and customs advantages to operate in these enclosures. In addition, during the visit, the visiting delegation and the Cartagenera company shared experiences in sustainability, since Central Park is immersed in the development of an Ecoindustrial Park program, according to the parameters of UNUDI, UN agency for industrial sustainability.

Later, they moved to Zofranca S.A, a free zone of the Colombian government managed by a company and offers a different model to the previous one, with direct connection to the sea. It has 9.5 hectares for development and more than 28 qualified users. In this case they also have an important development of solar energy for self -consumption so that the green rating is improving.

In both cases, Free Zone of Cádiz was able to contribute its vision and work developed in the blue economy and in sustainability, with innovative strategic lines that also result in the companies settled.

In this regard, the delegate of the Free Zone, Fran González, has affirmed that “meetings and meetings of this type give meaning to the internationalization strategy of the free zone towards companies and validates the presence of the consortium in Azfa, which serves as a link and confidence to do this type of operations with all guarantees”.
