The Cádiz Free Trade Zone continues to advance in the development of its productive spaces for companies in the Bay of Algeciras. Thus, today the Consortium has taken a new step in the urban planning procedures for the development of the industrial land of Los Pastores with the presentation to the Algeciras City Council of the document for the definitive approval of the Specific Modification of the General Urban Planning Plan (PGOU) of Algeciras, referring to the general road system 1.3 “Southern Access” and the general urban park system P.3.2.2 in Algeciras.
In October 2014, the Algeciras City Council approved the specific modification initially, but the project planned at that time and its processing were suspended until 2023, when the current management resumed the procedures for the logistical and business development of that industrial land, with the premise to generate productive spaces and focuses to attract investments in the area.
Once the modification of the PGOU is definitively approved, the Partial Plan will be modified and divided into two phases or sectors so that the Cádiz Free Trade Zone can begin the development of this industrial enclave. Next, the Reparcelling and Urbanization projects would be processed.
The State delegate in the Free Zone, Fran González, has stated that “this new step in the processing reaffirms the commitment of our Institution in its commitment to the region and this progress in the processing is important for the development of an industrial land of “great value for the city and the Bay of Algeciras.”
González has held a working meeting with the mayor of Algeciras, José Ignacio Landaluce, who has been accompanied by the deputy mayor for Urban Planning, Yessica Rodríguez, and municipal technicians, in order to directly address all the details surrounding this important project.
Landaluce has placed special emphasis on the importance of collaboration between institutions “to be able to carry out actions of the magnitude of the implementation of the Free Zone complex in Los Pastores, which will undoubtedly contribute to the generation of employment and creation of wealth.” for our city and the entire region.”
In this way, the Cádiz Free Trade Zone maintains its strong presence in the Bay of Algeciras, with the new Bahía de Algeciras Tax Precinct in Los Barrios as a great driving force, and the different business and industrial facilities in different municipalities: warehouses and plots in Palmones (Los Barrios), two business centers in Algeciras, the Tahivilla Industrial Estate (Tarifa), the Customs and Logistics Warehouse of Southern Spain (DALSE) in the port of Algeciras and the Documentary Services of Andalusia (SDA) also in Algeciras.
