Cádiz Free Trade Zone attends the Barcelona International Logistics Show with its new industry 4.0 model

The Cádiz Consortium has always been present at this Catalan fair, which this year is focused on innovation and digitalization

The Barcelona Free Trade Zone is the organizer of the event, which is attended by 120 startups, 30 of them from the Logistics 4.0 Incubator, the Consorci's incubator.

The Cádiz Free Trade Zone has been present for another year at the International Logistics Exhibition (SIL) in Barcelona, ​​a representation that has been headed by the State delegate, Fran González, accompanied by part of the Consortium's commercial team.

Fran González attended the opening ceremony, the presentation of which was given by the general director of SIL, Blanca Sorigué, and the interventions of the State delegate in the Barcelona Free Trade Zone, Pere Navarro; the mayor of the city of Barcelona, ​​Jaume Collboni; and the Minister of Transport and Sustainable Mobility, Oscar Puente.

After the official opening, the authorities took a tour of the stand area, where they greeted the exhibitors and visitors. In this edition of SIL, 650 companies participate, 35% of them international, with 176 exclusive novelties worldwide and 150 events of exhibiting companies. Regarding the professional field of the participating companies, 28% correspond to the transport sector, 21% specialize in information technologies (ICT), 20% work in intralogistics, 16% are dedicated to infrastructure, 8 % to real estate logistics and the remaining 7% to the creation of talent.

The logistics sector, a fundamental driver of the global economy, is in a moment of profound transformation. The adoption of new technologies such as artificial intelligence, Big Data and robotics is driving a rapid evolution towards more efficient, sustainable and digitalized models.

In fact, the Cádiz Free Trade Zone has taken advantage of this forum to disseminate and give international visibility to the new industrial model of the Cádiz Consortium, an industry 4.0 model, innovative, technological, more sustainable and committed to the environment, with the axis center of the Blue Economy and the startup incubator Incubazul.

In this sense, the delegate of the Free Zone of Cádiz, Fran González, has highlighted that “our Free Zone has always had an important role and presence in the SIL of Barcelona and this year it could not be any other way, since it also This edition, focused on innovation and digitalization, is in line with the Cádiz Consortium's industry 4.0 strategy.”

González added that "by attending these forums we try to reinforce and strengthen the work of attracting new companies, in this case startups belonging to the logistics sector, that look for solutions and can find in our facilities the progress, integration and innovation that they they need for their development.”

The presence of the commercial team of the Cádiz Free Trade Zone is proving very effective in terms of contacts and promotion of the activity and equipment of the Cádiz Consortium. Throughout today's day, the representatives of the Cádiz Consortium have held various meetings with national and international companies and operators, and have visited stands of different firms and entities in the exhibitor area.

The international reference fair for Logistics, Transport, Intralogistics and Supply Chain, has opened its doors this year with a clear message: innovation and digitalization, consolidating itself as a crucial meeting point for professionals throughout the supply chain.
