The State delegate, Fran González, points out that the arrival of a new company along the lines of the recent Capgemini, Rospa and Quest reaffirms Zona Franca's commitment to innovation and technology.
The Elecam company, founded in Cádiz in 1986, will be installed in a 3,688 m2 warehouse in the tax area of the Free Trade Zone of Cádiz, specifically in the warehouse called CPI (International Palletizing Center) in the part formerly occupied by Altadis. The Executive Committee of the Free Zone has ratified this week the installation of Elecam in the Consortium's facilities, which allows the Cádiz firm to maintain its main headquarters in the city of Cádiz, its upward evolution and continue growing in innovative projects and job creation. .
Elecam, which was born as a distributor of electrical supplies, is currently a benchmark in the innovative industry and offers comprehensive services in different areas, such as industrial solutions, electrical material, manufacturing of electrical control and protection equipment, lighting, renewable energies and naval and offshore supplies and has a powerful team of engineers and technicians capable of offering solutions to installers, engineers and end users.
This new addition confirms the recovery of productive spaces in the Fiscal Area and continues the line of attracting innovation and new technology companies from the Free Zone within its model of generating industry 4.0 and a sustainable and responsible economy. In fact, in recent weeks, companies such as Capgemini have been incorporated into the facilities of the Cádiz tax facility, with its recently launched Intelligent Industry Lab in the Europa building; Quest, engineering and blue economy also in the Europa building; and Rospa, an expert in engineering and innovation who will be a neighbor of Elecam in the area of the old Altadis, in the process of reactivating that land.
The equipment in which Elecam plans to install itself, which will invest approximately one million euros with this operation, will also be subjected by the Consortium to some conditioning works such as the rehabilitation of exterior facades, the replacement of aluminum carpentry, rehabilitation of loading docks or various improvements in hydraulic and electrical infrastructure. Also the company itself, which has planned an investment of around one million euros, will carry out various adaptation works, taking care of aesthetics and reinforcing comfort for users and workers.
The Elecam Group has adapted its activity through innovation and technological transformation of its processes and is registering considerable growth in recent years, which has led it to have a presence, in addition to the capital of Cadiz, in Algeciras, Jerez, Seville, Malaga , Madrid, Galicia and the Basque Country, as well as in international markets such as the EU, UK, China, Morocco and the United Arab Emirates. Its staff has reached one hundred workers, of which approximately 60% are engineers of different specialties.
The State delegate in the Free Trade Zone of Cádiz, Fran González, has pointed out that this new addition to the Consortium's facilities confirms that "we are establishing ourselves as an engine of innovative development and we are attractive for the installation of companies of this type."
González has expressed his satisfaction with the latest additions to the equipment of the Cádiz tax facility since Elecam joins that of Rospa, Quest and Capgemini. “The installation of these companies strengthens our new industrial model, our commitment to innovation within the framework of sustainability and commitment to the environment,” he said.
The Consortium is carrying out renovation and rehabilitation works on different facilities in the tax area to adapt them to the new industry 4.0 model and make them available to companies and operators interested in settling in the tax area, especially in the spaces that belonged to the former Altadis. , where the enclosure and security facilities have recently been improved and work to improve access control will soon be undertaken.
