The delegate of the Cádiz Free Trade Zone, Fran González, and Ricardo Ruipérez, Group Partner & CEO of Orbyn Corporate Solutions, signed this morning in the auditorium of the Q Hotel in Cádiz a general collaboration protocol between the technological incubator specialized in the Blue Economy promoted by the Consortium, Incubazul, and this finTech specialized in the provision of products and Tailored alternative financial services, designed specifically for businesses and investors.
With this agreement, Orbyn will become a strategic ally of Incubazul in financing solutions for its incubated projects – currently seventy-one –, being a catalyst to promote the growth of startups in their transition from business ideas to companies.
Thus, by opening financing options for initiatives and projects, one of the most genuine and important elements of Incubazul's entrepreneurship model is highlighted, which accompanies entrepreneurs throughout their journey, from the conception of the idea to the formation of the product or service and its viability, being an added value that really makes the difference with other more theoretical incubation models.
During the protocol signing ceremony, the Consortium delegate, Fran González, thanked Ricardo Ruipérez for “his support to Cádiz and the Blue Economy through this strategic alliance with the Free Trade Zone and with Incubazul, which shows that investors are "Increasingly aware of sustainability and seeking, in addition to profitability, to invest in projects that benefit the environment, such as those that are part of the ecosystem of our incubator."
“This agreement encourages us to continue working and, above all, supports the great effort made in recent years to promote entrepreneurship in the circular economy, paving one of the most complex paths that entrepreneurs face and which is none other than access to financing. Thanks to this agreement with Orbyn, and within the framework of the collaboration also with Telefónica, a safe environment will be created where the incubated projects will connect with investors interested in their projects, thus ensuring the necessary financing," explained the State delegate. in the Consortium.
Thus, González has stressed that “the agreement with Orbyn further strengthens, if possible, the differentiating element of the acceleration program being developed in Incubazul by Telefónica, providing real solutions in the phase of access to financing, one of the phases "Crucial aspects of the process of consolidating an idea into a business and in which Orbyn offers ways that go beyond the limits established by conventional banking."
Along these lines, the person in charge of the Cádiz Free Zone has stressed that “the collaboration between the Free Zone and Orbyn will consolidate the recruitment of talent and innovative ideas from Cádiz, promoting the growth and consolidation of an entrepreneurial ecosystem with technological solutions to “the marine and maritime spheres, where sustainability plays a fundamental role in addressing current and future challenges.”
“With agreements like the one we have signed today, we further strengthen the results that Incubazul is offering and that place the province of Cádiz on its own merits as a true hub of the Blue Economy, which attracts talent, identifies sustainable and blue ideas , supports qualified entrepreneurship and provides solutions and a business plan, now reinforced with improved access to financing thanks to the strategic alliance with Orbyn,” González explained.
For his part, Ricardo Ruipérez has also thanked the Free Zone for its trust in “counting on Orbyn to enrich the ecosystem created and promote the continuity of the companies that make it up” and explained why the promotion of its technological incubator “Incubazul is an ecosystem very aligned with our strategic objectives since it is an important pole for attracting talent and innovative ideas within a sector that is key for everyone, especially for countries like Spain and Monaco, where we have headquarters that lead alternative investment in this vertical.”
Likewise, Ruipérez highlights why the Blue Economy “is an important sector for our fintech for reasons that we consider key, such as the sustainability of marine and coastal resources, as well as technological innovation applied to the challenges they present, their impact on economic resources and employment, in addition to working on the availability of food that comes from the sea on a continuous basis.”
Starting shot of the Blue Zone Forum
The signing between the Free Trade Zone and Orbyn is part of the agenda of parallel events of the Blue Zone Forum, the great event of the Blue Economy that will be held in Cádiz starting tomorrow, Wednesday and that will bring together more than 40 people in the city. speakers –with top international speakers such as Gunter Pauli or Ángel León–, five expert workshops, networking events and more than 10 parallel events with which the 900 registered participants will “immerse themselves” in the circular economy and debate and recognize the potential and opportunities that the sea offers as a sustainable economic source and everything that can also be contributed to safeguard its own sustainability.
In this sense, the Consortium delegate has encouraged “that the signing with Orbyn, which is a boost for entrepreneurial ideas and projects in the Blue Economy, is the best letter of introduction to welcome the Blue Zone Forum that begins tomorrow and in which we have great expectations to project the enormous potential that Cádiz has in the marine sector and that position the province as a national and international reference with our technological incubator, Incubazul, as a channel for all the entrepreneurial talent around the seas and oceans and their acceleration process from idea to consolidated business.”
