The Cádiz Free Trade Zone has participated for another year in the Barcelona New Economy Week event, BNEW Barcelona, ​​which is celebrating its third edition in the city of Barcelona throughout this week and in which the delegate of the Cádiz Consortium, Fran González, has developed an intense agenda of visits, meetings and attendance at presentations with the focus on projecting the potential of Cádiz and its productive spaces as a strategic area for attracting new investments.

Among the meetings held, it is worth highlighting the one that took place during the first day, on Monday, with the general director of Sepes, Fidel Vázquez, in which initiatives and projects linked to industrial land in the province of Cádiz were discussed.

Fran González, accompanied by the director of Business Promotion and Foreign Trade, Rocío García-Delgado, has also held meetings with officials from Savills, the international real estate consultancy in charge of marketing the Bahía de Algeciras Tax Precinct that the Free Trade Zone is about to launch in Los Barrios and which has actively participated in the BNEW debate tables.

The delegate of the Cádiz Consortium has attended different presentations of interest, with topics such as “Generation Z: the new paradigm of retail and logistics", "Where to invest? How to invest? What are the trends?” or “The Energy Vector as a Driver of Sustainable Mobility”, all topics very closely linked to the activity of the Cádiz tax district and the shift taken by the Institution towards a new, more sustainable industrial model committed to the environment, within the framework of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

With their presence in Barcelona and the contacts maintained, Fran González and his team have wanted to highlight the strengths of Cádiz and its Free Trade Zone, teaching the great tool it represents for the promotion of foreign trade and internationalization and showing its strategic location as a sign of identity to grow and establish itself as one of the first-level strategic areas within the Andalusian logistics map and the entire country, also taking into account that this potential will be reinforced very soon with the entry into operation of the second tax area. of the Consortium, the Bahía de Algeciras Fiscal Precinct, which will backbone the logistics capacity of the province.

During this week, Barcelona New Economy Week (BNEW) held meetings on mobility, digital industry, real estate sector, sustainability or talent. Experts describe it as a unique event on industry 4.0.

One of the common denominators of the event has been the future, the new challenges facing the Real State, mobility in cities, the training of new generations, the distribution of goods taking into account the climate crisis or public-private collaboration in the construction of homes.

Presence of the Cádiz Free Trade Zone at the Fruit Attraction in Madrid

Those responsible for the Cádiz Free Trade Zone have carried out intense activity this week with their participation not only in the forum held in Barcelona but also in the Fruit Attraction 2022 that took place in Madrid, an international forum that is a meeting point for fruit and vegetable markets worldwide.

Fran González participated in the opening day on Tuesday and attended the event held by the Port Authority of the Bay of Cádiz at the State Ports stand, in which the Argentine company PTP Group presented the project planned for La Cabezuela in Puerto Real, an event that was attended by the Argentine ambassador to Spain, Ricardo Alfonsín.

The delegate of the Cádiz Free Zone has expressed satisfaction with the presence of the Cádiz Institution in both events, both in Barcelona and Madrid since "this type of international meetings have a lot of projection and serve as a springboard to publicize the potential of Cádiz and the Free Zone."

Fran González has thanked the port of Cádiz and Puertos del Estado for the invitation to participate in the presentation of the Argentine company's initiative in Madrid, a project that will bring investment to Cádiz and will represent an important advance in maritime connections with Latin America."

In parallel, the presence of Zona Franca de Cádiz at the BNEW has made it possible “for us to highlight our new industrial model in a forum of great importance in the new economy, in addition to showing the Cádiz of the future with the blue economy and our incubator as the central axis, much more taking into account that in this context we are a showcase for many companies and institutions that develop highly innovative projects.”

The person in charge of the Free Zone of Cádiz participated in the dinner-cocktail and BNEW awards ceremony that was held on Wednesday night and was attended by the Minister of Transport, Mobility and Urban Agenda, Raquel Sánchez, and the vice mayor of Barcelona City Council, Jaume Collboni, as well as the delegate of the Free Zone of Barcelona, ​​Pere Navarro and other authorities.
