The Minister of Finance and Public Function, María Jesús Montero, has presided over the act of placement of the first stone of the building that will house the Base Zone, the blue economy incubator that has launched the Free Zone of Cádiz, which will work in the future from a building built with recycled maritime containers, which will be a reference in the industrial zone of the city of Cádiz.

In the act of placement of the first stone, in which the minister and the delegate of the Free Zone, Fran González, have been responsible for the construction company Díaz Cubero, in charge of the work, and of the Carquero Architecture study, authors of the project. In addition to other authorities, they have attended as representatives of the City of Cádiz, the councilors Carlos Paradas and Lorena Garrón on behalf of Mayor José María González, who has apologized.

The architects of Carquero Architecture, editors of the basic project, have given details of what the building will be and have described base zone as a reference center, a model to follow in sustainable industry and a new way of doing and living the workplace, which from the heart of the industrial zone of Cádiz will be screened to the rest of the city.

The architects have described the project as broad, complex and original that will begin the transformation of the industrial zone of Cádiz “from their heart for its future connection with the rest of the productive fabric”, a whole concept absolutely different from the traditional industry, a sustainable industry seen from a global and comprehensive point of view, that is to say a concept that covers from the use of recycled containers- they usually have a useful life of 10/15 years- from facilities to green spaces and free areas or the use of energy from the photovoltaic cover.

The property will have a total built area of ​​1,951.33 m2 and 1,415.73 of terraces and free spaces and is composed of three floors in height, in addition to the ground floor, and will be built by the company Díaz Cubero, awarded the work with a budget of 2,311,687.48 euros (VAT not included) and an execution period of 14 months.

All plants will have terraces and free spaces and in the casualty coworking, formation rooms, cafeteria and bicycle parking, in addition to a surface parking on the same plot. Seven offices have been planned on the first floor and thirteen in the second. The third floor is raised with spaces for management, meeting rooms, endowment and technological laboratory.

The delegate of the State of the Free Zone, Fran González, has been satisfied and excited since "after many months of processing and work we have reached this expected start of the work of what will be an emblematic building and a reference for the entire external polygon." González stressed that "this construction will be the most visible face of our new industrial model based on sustainability and commitment to future generations."

"The incubator is already working in the European building of the fiscal enclosure in new and high quality facilities, with everything necessary for its start, although the building we start today will offer greater benefits and great comfort to our incubated that will greatly facilitate their daily work," said the delegate of the Free Zone.

The incubator of the Free Zone of Cádiz, Incubazul is being developed thanks to the support of the European Union that co-financing, through the INCYDE Foundation, in 80% by the FEDER within the 2014-2020 Plurirregional Operation Business spirit, in particular, facilitating the economic exploitation of new ideas, and promoting the creation of new companies, also through nurseries.
