Zona Franca has completed the work of this new infrastructure that allows direct connection to the equipment of the old tobacco factory, increasing permeability and integration with the rest of the tax area.
The Free Trade Zone of Cádiz has completed the work of the new access to the area of the old Altadis through the Elcano entrance, infrastructure that allows the total integration of that area of the old tobacco factory with the traditional tax area. This infrastructure is included in the comprehensive Modernization Plan being carried out by the Cádiz Consortium.
This action, which has been carried out by the company Construcciones Garrucho S.A., will result in the improvement of the competitiveness of the fiscal premises' facilities since it will allow the direct entry and exit of vehicles and pedestrians with the improvement of the connections inside. Therefore, total permeability is achieved between the spaces of the old tobacco factory – incorporated as a fiscal precinct in 2015 – and the rest of the precinct, with the elimination of a large gap that existed between both spaces that are now joined.
This improvement will also be an added value to the installation of the Strait Maritime Group and the future Civil Guard Maritime Service Improvement Center, which already has the works of the administrative building of the old tobacco center, known as the cross building, very advanced.
The Comprehensive Modernization Plan for the Free Zone, with a global budget of more than 1.5 million euros, has included resurfacing, improvements in hydraulic and electrical infrastructure and new signage, among others. The primary objective of the actions is to make this logistics space a competitive enclave that offers a better service to current operators and, at the same time, encourages the arrival of new investments.
