The Civil Guard will be able to begin its activity in July at the Maritime Service improvement center in the Free Zone

The delegate of the Government of Spain in Andalusia, Pedro Fernández, has visited the Cádiz tax facility and has toured, together with the delegate of the Consortium, Fran González, and the subdelegate of the Government in Cádiz, José Pacheco, the facilities of the building that the Maritime Group will occupy of the Strait in the tax area

The Civil Guard will be able to begin its teaching activity in July at the Maritime Service Improvement Center of the Civil Guard since the adaptation works of the building where it will be housed, in the Fiscal Precinct of the Free Zone, are progressing at the planned pace. This was confirmed today by the delegate of the Government of Spain in Andalusia, Pedro Fernández, who visited the facilities and also learned about other projects that are underway within the framework of the new industrial model led by the Cádiz Consortium based on sustainability and focused on green and blue economies.

Both the training center and the Maritime Service of the Civil Guard will have their headquarters in the so-called cross building, the administrative property of the old Altadis, which is being renovated with an investment of close to half a million euros and which will allow for innovative facilities for the first center of these characteristics that will welcome students from the Civil Guard itself and from abroad.

This is one of the projects that the delegate of the Government of Spain in Andalusia was able to learn about today, during a visit that began with the signing of the Consortium's Book of Honor. Subsequently, the delegate of the Free Trade Zone, Fran González, explained some of the strategic lines on which the Consortium is working, immersed in two major milestones of importance for the economy of the province: the Bahía de Algeciras Tax Precinct and the incubator of the Base Zone blue economy, Incubazul, co-financed by Feder Funds.

Fran González thanked the representative of the central government in Andalusia for his visit to the Cádiz tax precinct and the permanent support of the Government of Spain to the Cádiz Free Trade Zone and the province, betting on the development of the Consortium's second tax precinct in the Bay of Algeciras , whose work is approaching its final stretch, and which will serve to logistically structure the province of Cádiz.

Once the work meeting was held, the visit toured the fiscal premises and moved to the facilities of the so-called cross building, which has an area of ​​2,517 m2 spread over three floors, of which the ground floor has 517 m2 while the first and second have 1,000 m2 respectively.

The distribution of these spaces is being adapted to the needs of the two units. Thus, the new Maritime Service Improvement Center will provide specialized training to members of the Civil Guard and also other security forces and bodies, both in Spain and in third countries. This training includes Patron of the Maritime Service of the Civil Guard, Sailor Mechanic of the S.M. of the G.C., Maintenance Mechanic of the S.M. of the G.C., company courses (MAN, CARTERPILLAR, MTU, REINJET, etc.), seminars and conferences related to the Coast Guard functions of the Civil Guard.

In the case of the Strait Maritime Group, a unit that fights against drug trafficking and illegal immigration, the management of the unit's personnel, logistical and operational management of the unit's vessels (oceanic vessel) will be carried out from this definitive headquarters. “Río Miño and two deep-sea vessels, Río Arlanza and Río Guadalete), in addition to the technical inspection and maintenance management of the fleet of vessels of the Maritime Service of the Civil Guard, from Huelva to Alicante.

Pedro Fernández has also been able to verify the good progress of the blue economy incubator Incubazul, which is currently operating in the facilities of the Fiscal Precinct until the emblematic building of the Base Zone is built in the Exterior Industrial Estate of the Free Zone and which already has houses 8 startups.

Furthermore, the representative of the Government of Spain in Andalusia has witnessed the enormous activity of the Cádiz tax district, where 94 companies operate with 2,500 direct and 3,000 indirect jobs, with large operators in constant growth.

The delegate of the Free Zone has explained to Pedro Fernández the wide range of facilities that the Consortium has in 12 municipalities of the province, which currently accommodates 347 companies in the 9 industrial estates, 19 office buildings and 3 business incubators, with more than 2 million m2 of industrial, logistics and tertiary land.
