The Consortium has already awarded the work of the so-called cross building, for which four companies have submitted bids, and which is one of the administrative buildings of the old Altadis
The execution period is four months and the Free Trade Zone has expedited the processing so that the services can be operational as soon as possible.
The Free Trade Zone of Cádiz has awarded the company Plaza Sistemas SL the adaptation works of the so-called cross building, located in the area of the old Altadis of the Fiscal Precinct of Cádiz and which will house the future Center for Improvement of the Maritime Service of the Civil Guard and the Maritime Group of the Strait. This has been ratified by the Executive Committee of the Consortium, which has given the green light to the awarding of the work, for which four companies have submitted bids.
In order for these services to come into operation as soon as possible, the Consortium has expedited the deadlines as much as possible and just one day after the State delegate, Fran González, and the head of the Cádiz Civil Guard Command, Colonel Jesús Núñez, signed the contract at the Consortium's Headquarters, the adaptation work was put out to tender, the deadline for submitting offers ending on January 10.
The adaptation works have a completion period of four months, so it is expected that the facilities will be ready for next June, taking into account the deadlines for processing the entire procedure.
The work consists of a general overhaul of the building after years of disuse, without modifications to the current distribution, such as recovery of waterproofing, improvements in access to the building, replacement of carpentry and blinds, painting, air conditioning, electrical installation and fire protection, among others. In terms of security, among other measures, video surveillance cameras will be installed indoors and outdoors, reinforcement of signage and delimitation of the building's security area.
It should be noted that the work will be carried out in a property that has a total constructed area of 2,517 m2, spread over three floors, of which the ground floor has 517 m2, and the first and second, 1,000 each. In addition, the contract includes the lease of an adjacent area with 38 parking spaces.
The total investment in the building adaptation works and the necessary security system both in the building and in the surrounding area is around half a million euros and the initial duration of the lease contract is 10 years.
The so-called cross building – one of the administrative facilities occupied by the Altadis tobacco company – has been an excellent option to accommodate these two Civil Guard services. Its proximity to the port area of the Ribera dock within the perimeter of the fiscal precinct means that it has been perfectly adjusted to the needs required by the Civil Guard for both organizations. Furthermore, in the coming months this location will have the added value of a new access to the former Altadis area that the Free Trade Zone has already put out to tender and which will allow more permeability between both areas.
