To speed up the procedures, the Consortium already awarded the work in April to the UTE Carmín-Elecnor S.A. for an amount of 2,443,497.74 euros (VAT included)
The works They have an execution period of eight months and will form the new strategic logistics enclave, a space of 130,000 m2 that will be provided with fencing perimeter, modern surveillance, security and lighting system, in addition to contemplating the remodeling of the access road with the incorporation of two roundabouts
In parallel, the Free Trade Zone has a permanent Public Offer open for the commercialization of the facility and has already detected the interest of sectors such as logistics, healthcare industry and international capital promoters
The Local Government Board of the Los Barrios City Council has given the green light to the works license for the development of the Bahía de Algeciras Tax Precinct, so the Cádiz tax institution will be able to start the work in 15 days having previously expedited all the necessary processing for this.
Thus, the Consortium already awarded the work last April to the Temporary Union of Companies (UTE) Contratas y Movimientos de Tierra Carmin S.L. and Elecnor S.A. -formed by two firms based in the province- for an amount of 2,443,497.74 euros (VAT included) and an execution period of eight months, which will begin to count from the minute of rethinking and start
The adaptation works of the 130,000 m2 in which the Tax Precinct is located basically consist of the replacement and expansion of the current perimeter fence (2,132 linear meters); the creation of a surveillance patrol, of the same length of the fence, which includes the surveillance control system, thermal cameras, lighting and other security measures. It should be noted that these items reflect the complexity of the new facility, which will be a milestone in concepts such as surveillance and access control, in which the Free Trade Zone has worked intensely and in coordination with the Customs demarcation with the aim of integrating new communication technologies into customs work.
Along these lines, the Consortium also approved at the beginning of May the agreement by which the Civil Guard will be in charge of carrying out the surveillance, security and control tasks of this facility, just as it has done in the Cádiz Fiscal Precinct since 2002.
Likewise, the works on the site also include the remodeling of the access road with the incorporation of two roundabouts, the execution of the aforementioned access controls and license plate reader systems, all aimed at facilitating the connectivity of this productive space that is located just 3 kilometers from the Port of Algeciras.
In parallel with the streamlining of all the urban planning and administrative procedures for the implementation of the Fiscal Precinct – during which the Fiscal Institution has strengthened the institutional collaboration with the entities of the Bay of Algeciras region –, the permanent Public Offer for the commercialization of the precinct is open, after the competitive period closed at the end of June.
The publication of the competitive offer has made it possible to obtain information about potential interested parties and the ideal market for the three plots being marketed. In fact, great interest has been detected in important sectors such as logistics, the healthcare industry and international capital promoters.
It must be remembered that the bases of the Public Offer were prepared to respond to the needs expressed by the socioeconomic agents of the Campo de Gibraltar and adjusting to the regulatory framework of the Free Zone, on the basis of a Strategic Commercial Planning (PEC). Specifically, it is aimed at economic operators, mainly those dedicated to international trade.
The three plots included in the Public Offer are planned for logistics and transformation activities and have different dimensions to accommodate a variety of projects. From 42,095 m2 of the largest plot; at 27,331 m2 of the second; and the 10,840 m2, of the smallest.
Likewise, at this point it should be noted that the Los Barrios City Council has established that the investments made in the Campus be considered of general interest, with which they will obtain the corresponding bonus.
With the intensification of the procedures carried out by the Free Trade Zone that will allow the development of the works and, in parallel, the commercialization of the land, the Bahía de Algeciras Tax Precinct will foreseeably be operational in the first half of 2022, forming a unique strategic enclave that will give added value to foreign trade operations around the Port of Algeciras, which will strengthen the logistics corridor of the province of Cádiz and which will add competitiveness and investment opportunities, generating economic activity and employment in the Campo de Gibraltar region.
