The Doctor López Cano hospital located in the premises of the Free Zone in the Carranza stadium tribune will expand its facilities and services only 18 months after its opening, at the end of 2019.

This extension has been materialized by the State delegate in the Cadiz Consortium, Fran González, and the Manager of the López Cano Medical Group, Antonio López Sfferle, who have signed at the registered office of the Free Zone the lease contract of two new premises on the ground floor, suitable in their location when bordering on the hospital.

The solid commitment of the López Cano group for the development of a complete sanitary equipment in the facilities of the Tribune has been reflected with the award through the Public Offer OP 17/17 of the 2 and 3 premises, for a period that can reach up to 20 years. Specifically these are two 66 m stores2 y 741 m2, which add up to 807 m2 at 1,632 m2 that already house the clinic, distributed between ground floor and first of the rostrum area closer to the South Fund.

The project will complete a modern medical specialties center of 2,439 m2, which means increasing the current surface of the hospital. Its implementation and commissioning has an investment volume of 2 million euros and the creation of direct employment of 15 jobs, which will join the 95 that already make up the clinic staff and that reinforces the quality of the assistance and the offer of specialties of a center that already has a wide range of specialties, three latest generation operating rooms and a first -class technological endowment.

Once the conditioning and integration works with the clinic are finished, the beginning of the activity of the new services is planned for the beginning of 2022. In this way, the growing and constant demand of patients that has made it necessary to incorporate the two new premises of the ground floor to be able to offer new services and expand some of the most requested specialties will be met.

Thus, the extension will allow the opening of a 24 -hour emergency door, together with an observation zone with 5 patient hospitalization positions. In addition, the improvement of the diagnostic capacity of the center is projected with more surface destined to the broadcastic area, as well as the extension of the dental area, with a total of 4 new cabinets and a specific waiting room for that area. This extension will also be added the improvement works of the rehabilitation area with which the group has Astarté clinics, where the group also has a digestive endoscopy area.

During the signing of the contract, the delegate of the Free Zone has thanked the Manager of the López Cano group “his commitment to Cádiz and the Free Zone to continue investing in the improvement of the hospital. The López Cano group is a reference for the Cadiz business fabric for its high degree of commitment to improve health equipment in Cádiz, fundamental in our society even more so in the months of pandemic that we have had to live; and for its capacity for generating employment and socioeconomic development in the area ”.

In this sense, González stressed that the extension of the medical center reinforces the impulse to the economy of the La Laguna neighborhood and surrounding areas, since a center of these characteristics attracts a large number of patients with its companions, which dynamizes the economy of the area. In turn, a clinic of these characteristics also generates a high number of indirect employment, associated with services to serve a surgical patient -limpiene, laundry, catering, safety, suppliers of fungible material, medical equipment distributors, medical visitors, use of public parking spaces etc.

For his part, Antonio López Siferle thanked the constant support received by the Consortium, key actor in the economic revitalization of the province and promoter of high -value added projects that ensure the creation of long -term stable wealth. In turn, he showed the commitment of the López Cano group for a balanced and solid growth in Cádiz.
