Free Trade Zone and Los Barrios City Council are working on the marketing of the Bahía de Algeciras tax area

The Consortium delegate, Fran González, and the mayor of the municipality, Miguel Alconchel, accompanied by part of his management team, held a meeting to analyze details of the fiscal enclave and discuss issues of common interest

Within the framework of the collaboration between both administrations, the recent opening of the public offer for the commercialization of the fiscal enclave focused a good part of the conversations

The State delegate in the Cádiz Free Trade Zone, Fran González, and the mayor of Los Barrios, Miguel Alconchel, accompanied by part of his management team, held a meeting in which they discussed issues of common interest, with the development and implementation of the Bahía de Algeciras Tax Precinct as a central issue.

In a climate of understanding and collaboration, those responsible for both administrations have analyzed details about the commercialization of the fiscal enclave, whose Public Offer has recently been opened by the state Consortium and which has been agreed upon with the socioeconomic agents of the region, trying to respond to the needs raised from different sectors.

A very important point in the marketing process of the three available plots is that the Barrio City Council has ordered that the investments made in the fiscal area be considered of general interest, which will have the corresponding bonus.

The offer is intended for economic operators dedicated to activities linked to international trade and benefiting, therefore, from customs and tax advantages, an activity closely linked to import-export operations around the port of Algeciras, which demanded this type of special spaces to increase their competitiveness.

González and Alconchel analyzed the details for the development of the tax precinct, since the Free Trade Zone is intensifying the necessary procedures and work so that it can become operational in the shortest possible time, once the adaptation work has been carried out, already awarded and which will be carried out by the Carmin-Elecnor UTE.

The work, which will begin as soon as the building permit is available and is awaiting the Junta de Andalucía to complete the process, will consist, among others, of replacing and expanding the current perimeter fence (2,132 linear meters) and creating a surveillance patrol, the same length as the fence, which includes the surveillance control system, thermal cameras, lighting and other security measures.
