The State delegate in the Free Trade Zone of Cádiz, Victoria Rodríguez Machuca, has visited the Algeciras Civil Guard Command, accompanied by its legal team, in order to hold a working meeting in relation to the future free zone “Bahía de Algeciras” that will be installed in the logistics area of El Fresno (Los Barrios) following the Order of the Ministry of Finance on October 1.
She was received by Colonel Jesús Núñez, Head of the Command, accompanied by Lieutenant Colonel Fernando López-Rey, Chief of Operations.
During the meeting, both parties discussed the proposal to create a Civil Guard Unit made up of reserve personnel, similar to the one that currently exists in the Cádiz Free Trade Zone, to take charge of the security of the final facility that will be established.
To this end, the Consortium will prepare a draft agreement that, after being studied by the Algeciras Command, will be submitted internally to the Secretary of State for Security, for evaluation and approval, and will subsequently be signed by both owners.
All of this without prejudice to the strength of the Fiscal Guard of the Civil Guard which, in accordance with current customs regulations, will ensure the control and exit of goods from the tax area, according to the instructions received from the Customs and Special Taxes Administration.
