Free Trade Zone proposes reinforcing the Casino as a center of socioeconomic activity

The delegate of the Free Trade Zone, Victoria Rodríguez, and the mayor, José María González, have held a meeting in which they have decided andstudy new conconditions and renew the agreement which expires in July

The delegate of the Free Trade Zone of Cádiz, Victoria Rodríguez, and the mayor of Cádiz, José María González, accompanied by councilor David Navarro, along with technicians from both administrations, met this morning to analyze the situation of the Cádiz Casino business center and have agreed that it should continue operating.

In a climate of cordiality and collaboration, the Free Trade Zone and the City Council have agreed to study the new conditions that will allow the preparation of a new agreement and thereby maintain the offices located there and not harm business owners or eliminate jobs.

Zona Franca aims to convey a message of tranquility to businesspeople and put an end to any type of legal uncertainty, since the proper functioning of the business center makes it indisputable that it has continuity and is positioned as a reference and dynamizer of the business fabric of the old town.

The Consortium has even proposed that the role of the Casino be reinforced and not only maintain its use as a business center but expand it and develop socioeconomic activities in its facilities.

Since its inception, the Cádiz Casino business center has enjoyed great acceptance among the local business community. Two weeks ago, the Association of Young Entrepreneurs (AJE) spoke out on the matter after a meeting held with representatives of several member companies of the Business Center, some of which are associated companies of AJE Cádiz.

At that meeting, the direct and indirect employment generated in these facilities was highlighted, as well as the importance of having a business center in the historic center in terms of customer visits.

The administrative agreement, which expires on July 24, transferred part of the Casino facilities to the Free Trade Zone to promote a business center there. The Consortium invested 400,000 euros of European funds in rehabilitating and refurbishing the Cádiz Casino and installing the business center there.

This agreement only allowed this activity to be carried out for two years, although in 2017 the previous delegate, Alfonso Pozuelo, and the mayor, José María González, agreed to extend the duration for two more years, but closing any possibility of extension, hence it is necessary to sign a new agreement to enable the continuity of this activity.
