The meeting brought together business and institutional representatives of the region
The Campo de Gibraltar Chamber of Commerce was the scene of the meeting that took place this morning between the special delegate of the Cádiz Free Trade Zone Consortium, Victoria Rodríguez, and business and institutional representatives of the region. The objective of this meeting, organized by the chamber entity, has been to make known by the Free Zone the status of the expansion and expansion projects that the Consortium is developing in this district as well as to provide a space in which to convey to the delegate the concerns of the regional business fabric.
The meeting, chaired by the president of the Chamber, Carlos Fenoy and the delegate of the Free Trade Zone, was attended by members of the plenary session of the chamber body and institutional and business representatives of this demarcation covering different strategic and productive sectors. Among the attendees were the territorial delegate of Knowledge and Employment, Gema Pérez; the mayor of Los Barrios, Jorge Romero; the Urban Planning delegate of the Algeciras City Council, Diego González and representatives of different business associations, including the Association of Service Companies of the Bay of Algeciras (AESBA), Freight Forwarders (ATEIA-OLTRA Campo de Gibraltar) or the Association of Large Industries (AGI), in addition to a representation of the Port Authority of the Bay of Algeciras.
During the course of the day, Carlos Fenoy wanted to highlight the opportunity that this type of meeting represents to tap the needs of the business community, enabling channels for the exchange of impressions between companies and administrations that help outline the implementation of projects.
For her part, the Free Zone delegate has given a detailed presentation about the activity of the Cádiz institution and the equipment and services it offers. Victoria Rodríguez has indicated that, since she came to office in July, she has carried out an in-depth analysis of the projects developed in the province and has worked with technicians to optimize and get the greatest possible performance from the existing spaces. At this point, he wanted to emphasize that any action carried out by the Free Zone, from now on, must respond to strategic planning and economic viability.
In this context, he explained that the planning of the Free Zone includes measures to attract investors, which translate into five specific actions: promote coordination between administrations and groups, listen to and serve social agents, improve information on the Free Zone in the province and, abroad, promote productive land in the province and respond to the historical demand for a tax precinct in Campo de Gibraltar, which will be located in El Fresno, in Los Barrios, and whose processing has explained the delegated in detail.
Victoria Rodríguez concluded her presentation by encouraging businesspeople and potential investors to count on the Consortium, whose immediate objective is to contribute to the socioeconomic development of the province and whose commitment to the Bay of Algeciras is very clear, announcing that it will strengthen the commercial department and improve the foreign trade area, in order for the Free Trade Zone to be more present.
