The State delegate, Victoria Rodríguez, and the Urban Planning Councilor, Martín Vila, accompanied by technicians from both administrations, have laid the foundations of the action protocol

ABoth of them set the development of the industrial estate as a priority and are committed to joint work that includes a management body with personnel from both entities.

The State delegate in the Free Trade Zone, Victoria Rodríguez, and the first deputy mayor and Urban Planning councilor of the City Council of Cádiz, Martín Vila, accompanied by technicians from the two administrations, have started work today to lay the foundations that define the action protocol to carry out the development of the exterior polygon of the Free Trade Zone of Cádiz.

With the arrival of Victoria Rodríguez, Zona Franca and City Council have marked this action as a priority and have shown themselves in favor of collaboration and joint work on this project, of great importance for the city and for the socioeconomic fabric of the capital.

The action protocol analyzed at today's meeting includes the creation of a management body to coordinate the work, which will be made up of personnel and resources from both entities.

Since her arrival in office, the Free Trade Zone delegate has taken the initiative to promote the reactivation of the project and is working with the idea of starting with an entrepreneurial space - it could be on the Ibérica AGA plot -, an area of employment generation for young people that provides dynamism, that benefits the productive and social fabric of the city of Cádiz and that serves as a pilot experience for the rest of the industrial estate.

In fact, the last Plenary Session of the Consortium, held on July 31, approved creating an item of 4 million euros and including it in the preliminary draft budget for 2019 to reactivate the development of the outdoor complex.

Martín Vila, for his part, has expressed that from the local government "we positively value the change in the Free Zone because it allows us to face a new stage so that, from the coordination between administrations, we lay the foundations and act so that the outer industrial estate leaves behind the image of precariousness that it currently presents."

The mayor added that, “in the city model we are working for, Cádiz needs sufficient spaces to house economic activity in the industrial and commercial sphere, and the Outdoor Estate must be the catalyst to consolidate and generate stable and quality employment.”.
