The State delegate in the Cádiz Free Trade Zone, Alfonso Pozuelo, and the CEO of Torrot, Iván Contreras, signed this morning at the Consortium's Headquarters the lease contract for the interconnected sustainable mobility company to install itself in a warehouse in the Cádiz Tax Precinct, where it will carry out the manufacturing and marketing of its latest launch: the velocipede, a three-wheeled vehicle. wheels that is 100% electric.
The Free Trade Zone delegate expressed his satisfaction with the arrival of the company after months of contacts and work in that regard and expressed hope that today's arrival will be the first of many others. “the spearhead” of the large companies that have communicated their interest in establishing themselves in the Cadiz area.
Alfonso Pozuelo congratulated everyone for the commendable work carried out to successfully complete the installation of the new company and wished Torrot “all the luck in the world” in this stage that is now beginning, in addition to being willing to continue working in the same line with the aim of promoting the expansion of the firm in this area.
For his part, the CEO of Torrot, pointed out that with the arrival of this firm in the capital of Cadiz, the aim is to design a new productive model for the city inspired by Detroit, in addition to contributing to job creation. In this sense, the company plans to create 25 new jobs in the first phase to expand in the following months to more than a hundred.
Iván Contreras was satisfied with the great reception that his commitment to Cádiz has had and explained that "we will continue to support the city", to which he said he feels very close due to family roots.
Today's event represents the formalization of the already announced implementation of this industry in Cádiz, an important investment that will have repercussions throughout the Bay, through the productive spaces that the Free Trade Zone has in the capital of Cádiz.
Torrot, which foresees an investment of 12 million euros, will occupy an area of more than 5,000 m2 on the land of the former Altadis and which was incorporated a year ago into the Cádiz Tax Precinct. In fact, at the end of December the Consortium awarded this space, to which are added the offices that Torrot, the only Spanish manufacturer of 100% electric and interconnected mobility, will also occupy in the Melkart building.
