Free Trade Zone, present at the Tercentenary event in Madrid

The Free Trade Zone delegate attended the presentation of the anniversary in the capital, held at the Casa de América

The event was attended by institutions, companies and authorities from the entire province of Cádiz, as well as diplomatic representatives.

The State delegate in the Free Trade Zone of Cádiz, Alfonso Pozuelo, attended yesterday in Madrid the presentation ceremony of the Tercentenary of the transfer of the Contracting House from Seville to Cádiz, which took place at the Casa de América in the capital and was attended by institutions, companies and authorities from across the province, as well as diplomatic representatives from different countries.

Zona Franca de Cádiz participates in the commemoration events and signed last June the collaboration protocol for the celebration of the event, in which institutions, city councils, companies and various organizations from across the province collaborate.

In April of last year, the provincial deputy, Fran González, began a round of institutional contacts to present this anniversary between public and private entities. The signing of collaboration protocols began and the institutional presentation was held in June at the headquarters of the Provincial Council, of which the Free Trade Zone, the Port Authority of Cádiz, CEC, UCA, the Chamber of Commerce and different town councils in the province, among others, were already part. Subsequently, more entities and companies have joined.

It is worth remembering that in May 1717 the transfer of the Casa de Contratación de Indias took place, from Seville to Cádiz. Its arrival strengthens the splendor of the Cadiz capital as an axis of commercial communication between Europe and America. The actual headquarters of the Provincial Council and current Provincial Palace was the customs office 300 years ago, from where foreign trade operations were dispatched.
