In this period, Zona Franca has executed projects for more than 78.3 million euros charged to Feder and its own funds
The Consortium has managed to go from 15 to 56.6 million euros in Feder aid, absorbing funds not executed by other intermediate organizations
The works co-financed with Feder Funds corresponding to that period have allowed the Consortium to carry out important projects throughout the province and increase its assets substantially.
The Free Trade Zone of Cádiz has complied in a very positive way with the Feder Funds and thus, at the close of the Feder Operational Framework 2007-2013, it has executed 377% of the aid initially allocated, which has gone from 15 million euros to 56.6 million euros, absorbing funds not executed by other intermediate organizations.
In this way, the Consortium has made a total investment of 78,328,039.98 euros in actions completed in this period. Of this total volume of investment, which in the last four years has allowed the configuration of an important industrial infrastructure and a network of business centers throughout the province, the Consortium has received aid worth 56,591,900.16 euros for its financing, while the remaining 21,736,139.82 euros correspond to the Free Zone's own resources.
It should also be noted that of the total amount of investment, 75,589,402.53 euros have been managed directly by Zona Franca and 2,738,637.45 euros correspond to projects carried out through collaboration with the Chambers of Commerce of Cádiz and Campo de Gibraltar and the Incyde Foundation, an institution of the Chambers of Commerce themselves, dedicated to the promotion and training of the entrepreneurial spirit, to the improvement of the qualification of entrepreneurs and the creation and consolidation of companies.
The intense work and co-financing of works within the aforementioned Feder Operational Framework has allowed the Free Trade Zone to carry out projects throughout the province, creating an important business and industrial infrastructure in different municipalities and developing the largest network of business centers in Andalusia, with more than 70,000 m2 of offices, in addition to making a substantial increase in its assets.
In the capital of Cadiz, the Europa Building in the heart of the Interior Campus has obtained a magnificent response from the business community, as has the Business Center of the Casino of Cadiz, while in the rest of the province five new business centers have been built: in Algeciras, the Nexus Building, located next to the Chamber of Commerce; the Arcis Business Center, in Arcos; the Iro Business Center, in Chiclana; the Las Caballerizas Business Center and the San Agustín Business Center in Jerez; and the Horizonte Business Center in Vejer de la Frontera. Also in Algeciras, Zona Franca has carried out important improvement works in the Free Warehouse (DALSE).
At the same time, different industrial infrastructures have been developed that give a good example of the work carried out in this Feder Operational Framework by the Consortium to promote economic activity throughout the province. Thus, the business incubator in Ubrique and the Palmones in Los Barrios have been launched, both in collaboration with the chambers of commerce and the Incyde Foundation, and comprehensive improvements have been carried out in the Polígono La Palmosa, in Alcalá de los Gazules, Polígono Marismas de Palmones, in Los Barrios, and Polígono El Portal, in Jerez.
In the Interior Area of the Cadiz capital, the expansion of Harinera Vilafranquina has been carried out with a new silo warehouse for storage, as well as the refrigeration warehouse that Procosur occupied and the logistics center for the SAS.
The good use of the Feder Funds, which has also allowed the acquisition of land for the expansion of the Fiscal Precinct in Los Barrios; and the ground and first floors of the Carranza Stadium in Cádiz, among others, has made it possible for the Cádiz Free Trade Zone to complete an important business and industrial infrastructure, facilitating the establishment of companies and consequently the creation of new jobs, in addition to giving the starting signal and the first steps of the great project to enlarge and expand the Tax Precinct to the entire province of Cádiz.
